I'm pretty sure his doctor said the other day that Trump needed oxygen on Friday when his levels were 95%, so if his levels are 95-97% now whilst being on medication then little wonder he was gasping for breath last night during his Putinesque wonderman video.

I commented the other day about Trump doing something that I associated with Mussolini. I said then I had watched him during the 2016 Ca mpaign and he done quite a lot of Mussolini moves then. Tonight I watched the news, and they were talking about his rearrival at the White House and how some of his moves were really Mussolini copies. I felt pretty good about it, mebbe I am not as old and dottered as I thought I was, my powers of observation and

 associative abilities are still somewhat there.

I watched him. Total dictator, if he gets the chance. Yes, I know Biden isn't much better, if at all. But Americans have to get rid of Trump now, or he will implement a takeover of Putin proportions. And he has a long line of heirs.

It's not that long ago we were joking about the ludicrous prospect of Trump and Johnson being in charge, either side of the Atlantic. The world is a crazy place now, and it's not going to get better unless Trump is the start of the dominoe effect by losing in November. The comparisons of Trump to Mussolini, and the other supreme being in North Korea, are hard to brush off as paranoia. 

I really hope that the millions of normal Americans aren't complacent about what they are about to decide, come this election.

There was a Trump supporter interviewed outside the hospital the other day, saying Trump for 2020, Trump for 2024, Trump for 2028, and I don't think he was joking either.

 

I get the feeling there are some in America who would happily go along with such an idea.

It'll be good to see an actual debate this evening between Pence and Harris rather than last week's toddler fest. Brings added importance because everyone knows that Biden will only serve one term (if even) and Harris will be the front runner in 2024.  

 

I've made no secret of my disdain for Trump and this week just adds to it.  I'm just across the river from Wisconsin and we've got a cabin there, it's one of the worst states in terms of cases over the past couple of weeks and the republicans there want to strike down the Governor's mask mandate by going to court.  His words and actions this week embolden that sort of behavior.

I wasn't really meaning to comment on Harris's debate qualities, it is an unfortunate situation for what was a great Country that the people who are being on the two different debates are not of the quality one would expect from a place with the population the have., my comment though somewhat tongue in cheek was aimed at what is/has become my favorite target, an idiot who seems prepared to prove it at every opportunity.

Not once have I seen anything coming on to this forum supporting Trump actually explain why. No attempt at even a single redeeming quality of this orange plague.

I also suspect they're going to look ever more absurd when he's ejected from that office and has no no further scope to hinder investigation into him. The tax thing is just the tip of the criminal iceberg.

A tip his own sister predicted would come to the surface when he was elected. She knew his taxes would get greater scrutiny than ever before exposing the tax scamming of the entire family over decades. The orange clown wouldn't listen to her and here it is, exactly what she said would happen.

We're also going to see the current enablers run for cover trying to distance themselves from him in case they too get dragged into the criminal investigations coming his way.

Slightly OT but watching the VP debate, it certainly brings home how poor American politicians are at debating. No real fluidity to their speaking at all. The vast majority of our politicians would run rings around them. There is a video of George Galloway (who I personally have no time for) on YT giving evidence to a committee and it's man against boys. Bit disappointed TBH.

I disagree slightly insofar as I've never seen a person outright prevaricate and lie with every word so earnestly and easily.

 

Trump has a million tells when he lies; Pence does it effortlessly.

I think Americans try to turn politics into some sort of entertainment whereas British politicians really go for the issues in a far more concise and professional manner.

In the US It's like a TV show or Hollywood film which is one reason they elect an actor like Arnie as governor of California and an actor like Reagan plus an entirely unqualified reality TV host like Trump to president. Oprah was suggested as Democratic candidate for president for crying out loud. And countless other celebrities have been suggested to run.

How many times have you seen Americans cry "(insert name) for president" every time there's a man of the moment so to speak? 

Could you envisage say Cilla Black running for leader of the Labour party then PM or Hugh Grant who actually played the PM in a film being elected PM?

Can you imagine Trump facing say a Robin Day on question time?

I've not been watching this one, just following some of the commentary.  Am I right in thinking the only thing that will be remembered about this is the fly on head situation?

Another poor performance by the moderator.

Pence was allowed to avoid answering questions and run over his time while spouting the party line, and the moderator made futile efforts to make him behave.

 

No home runs by either person, imo, which was good for the Biden campaign since they are ahead in the polls.
