I agree with everything you write, especially about him being as thick as pig shit.

The notion that Trump is an astute businessman is a fantasy.  He's had several bankruptcies.

Even in the Real Estate business he inherited from his father, he lost almost ONE BILLION dollars between 1985 and 1994.  He has accumulated much of is wealth through tax deductions due to depreciation of his buildings and other tax breaks.

Many suspect that he went for a decade or more and never paid a dime in tax, which is one of the reasons he doesn't want his tax returns made public.  He is on the record as having bragged about his skill at avoiding tax ... it's not his skill, it's his accountants.

He is well versed in not tax avoidance but outright tax evasion according to his niece though he learned that from his father. His father was an accomplished business man unlike him. But also every bit as sociopathic and unethical as he is.

Quote

The president’s parents, Fred and Mary Trump, transferred well over $1 billion in wealth to their children, which should have produced a tax bill of at least $550 million under the 55 percent tax rate then imposed on gifts and inheritances.

The Trumps paid a total of $52.2 million, or about 5 percent, tax records show.

They should now come gunning for that money. With interest.

I guess my past is catching up with me but I have a problem with the suggestion of Trump counselling a person to commit a crime which they say cannot happen, because of safeguards you cannot vote twice.  Now should a person have obtained  second identity then there is now motive and opportunity to commit a crime. In the case of Trumps statement, I still present that he made no suggestion of that type. He counselled a voter who stated he had previously sent in a mailed ballot, to go to a station and try to vote with a machine. If he was told his vote had already been tabulated, and was now unable to vote manually ,no crime. If he in some way attempted to repeat his vote by manual means being aware that he had a counted vote this could be seen as an attempt to commit voter fraud. In my opinion without evidence that he attempted fraud because of the safeguards and although with motive there was no opportunity to commit a crime, regardless of intent.

I hope my learned friend from Arizona does not come on and tell me I am practising very bad legal comments without a licence or a brain.

See if I shot a Policeman who I knew was wearing armour, and I know he wouldn't  die. Is it still attempted murder?

As for you supporting Trump :rofl:The thread speaks for itself, Sharpie. 👍 I get where you're coming from about blame, because I, also, have thought... You can't put that one on Trump at times. But this, this is fraud and he's hoping his supporters can go the little bit extra and mark a vote for him, twice. He's probably arranged it to happen. Fe k it, what's one more charge to the sheet, anyway.

Yes he is.

He is where he is through privilege, and even then he still managed to bankrupt a casino.  A ****ing casino.  If he never had his fathers money and name behind him, he would be in jail.

Everyone goes on about how great a business man he is, but he has constantly failed spectacularly.  Lets see what his tax returns show.  IF we ever see them.

His recent money/fame came through media, not business.  He would just turn round and refuse to pay debts to banks.  That's why nobody but Deutsche Bank would touch him.... And even then, it was only because they had ties to his father.

Edit just to add James ****ing Corden in now probably worth about £100 Million in the US.  James ****ing Corden.  That's how ****ed America is.  They reward *****

I believe the casinos were profitable but he decided that he knew better than the management running them, they took up jobs elsewhere and resigned leading to him running them (into the ground)

Anyone else seem to think that Trump’s PR team have given up on him? He seems to be coming out with more and more shite every day. That or his team are as ****ing morally bankrupt as he is.

I go through stages of being enraged with what he and his supporters say and do followed by being lost for words.

What a ****ing mess that country is in.

Em - This is the literal definition of suggesting that someone go and try to commit a crime.

I get what you are saying that he also said that it shouldn't work. But he has actually said - go do it.   Literally - go commit a crime - just to see if you can do it..

The comment above from @ri Alban about asking someone to shoot a policeman may be far fetched, but his point is spot on.  Again, if I heard that the bank was making an error when you deposited a certain amount of money that would be counted twice, then I told everyone to go and fleece the bank, this would be asking them to commit fraud - even if I had heard that the bank had found out about it and fixed it.  I would still be inciting them to commit a crime.

Sharpie, you are coming across as showing bias based on your existing feelings and opinions rather than fact.

Biden may have faults - but he's still clearly the better option for President than Trump.

The fact he was wearing body armor would not necessarily save his life, hast would matter in my opinion is that you had. gun you fire it at the policeman with the intent to kill him, that would be the argument posed by the prosecution. Now if you said I have a feather duster and I tell you to beat someone to death with it by striking them on the head, a wee bit different. My only reason for carrying on about this subject was I heard Trump when he made the statement, and my immediate reaction at that he is harping on about mail fraud again, and wants this guy to prove it by saying the vote that was cast wan't my vote, thats all I was trying to say.

You have me a wee bit confused with your last sentence, are you suggesting I am an undercover supporter of Trump, if so you are totally wrong. I have stated in another reply that although a long time out of it I still think like a policeman, I look at the facts, I consider the evidence as I see it, and then consider the same evidence as a prosecutor may see it and then present my written submission to the Prosecutor. In this case I see numerous questions. Did Trump actually tell him to vote twice, in my biased opinion he did not from what I heard him say. I heard him say check the machine, if your mail in vote is not there use the machine to register your vote. In my biased opinion based on my love for all things Trump that you seem to suggest Trump counselled him to register a vote for Trump, knowing or believing that the first vote recorded by the voting machinations is the one that would count, the system programmed to avoid double votes.

So Trump valued the sacrifice of American war dead with "Suckers and losers" "What's in it for them?"  and "I don't get it."  Great patriot though.

Of course, when he was at school, it wasn't called dyslexia; he'd have just been one of the 'slow' boys. And in an expensive school, with Papa Drumpf chucking money to cover for his embarrassing son, he would have been taught tactics to cope with the shame. Since seeing that article, it's all I think of when I see the man talk. The bit reading about the three wise men and missing the punctuation? Absolute stick on dyslexia.

Now it's cruel to label dyslexic people as 'thick' but, as in many areas, the two can be exclusive. Very clever people struggle with dyslexia and very thick people don't have any symptoms of dyslexia. But then you also get another part of the Venn diagram where Trump resides: thick with dyslexia.

His psychologist niece is of the opinion that he has a learning disability, it's perfectly obvious even to a layman that he struggles to read. Watching him read reminds me of times at primary school when the teacher was encouraging someone struggling to read a word to "sound it".

I suspect his reading problems are one reason he has an extremely limited vocabulary. You can often see him pause during a ramble, searching for a word, and it never comes.

Reading is how most people expand their vocabulary. if you struggle to read that expansion isn't going to happen. Especially so when you compound it by never listening to anybody.

One of the police courses I was given included physchological profiling. One of the subjects was Ted Bundy, a terrible, terrible man, but could be charming and had the gift of reading what turned out to be his victims character. I am not at all suggesting that Trump is of the same ilk as Bundy, but the way that people like Cruz who Trump alleged his father, was involved in the Kennedy assassination and called Cruz a liar now seems to follow him blithely. For all we see in Trump is it possible that he has the same skill to read his colleagues and feed them what they need to hear to gain his trust, remember I have not said loyalty because he has never shown that as a trait either. I have also not suggested higher intelligence just a physchological skill.

Two things form, the first is that his characterisation of the men who sacrificed their lives for their Country is no doubt what he thought of them when he used his fathers money and influence to enable him to avoid military service. Not a draft dodger who did not register because of anti war feelings, strictly an act of cowardice and lies.

Even now Trump is not making decisions out of patriotism, they are made for personal benefit, and at the bidding of adversarial leaders who have the means to pull the chain around his neck tighter.

A major facet of it is simply racism. Do you think the lovers of confederate statues he woos are truly concerned about historical artifacts? If they were then that statue would be far better off in a controlled museum environment for preservation.

Obviously they're not, they simply want to maintain these symbols of racism in a glorified manner. The KKK don't endorse Trump for law and order. Neither do the vast majority of those behaving like cultists as they whoop/genuflect at every incoherent utterance he makes.

Another irony here is that the dictator like buffoon claiming to be for law and order is actually encouraging and creating anarchy. He's been openly ignoring and effectively dismantling all the 'checks and balances' they so proudly declare makes them such a great nation.

Give him another 4 years of dismantling it and you will be looking at  an authoritarian state in all but name. I don't know what the military view of that would be as they became required to pledge allegiance to Trump rather than the constitution and the nation.

James Comey, former director of the FBI was fired when he declined to pledge allegiance to Trump. And keep that in mind, he actually demanded loyalty to him not to the nation from the director of a national intelligence agency. And when that was declined the man was fired.

The following is from the original pledge of allegiance in the Weimar Republic.

""I swear loyalty to the Reich's constitution and pledge,
that I as a courageous soldier always want to protect the German Reich and its legal institutions"

It took just two years of Hitler to become this.

"I swear to God this holy oath
that I shall render unconditional obedience
to the Leader of the German Reich and people,
Adolf Hitler"

I feel they already have the embryonic stages of a Gestapo like structure in place. Large factions of the police appear to support him then there's all these quasi military nominally civilian bodies like ICE and homeland security he has been brazenly using for his own purposes.

All the signs are there.

According to an American general I saw interviewed a few weeks ago, the rank and file of the American military are largely Trump supporters.  I thought that was surprising since Trump used his father's wealth an influence to avoid military service.  One would think that he would be scorned as a result, but apparently not.

We'll see if this latest revelation makes a difference, but we've had many false "Well, that's him screwed now" moments before.

This is a very good post.

A lot of Trump's success can be attributed to racism.  Some people like to think that racism is a thing of the past, but it runs deep in the USA going all the way back to the days of slavery, the civil war, and the Civil Rights struggles of the 1960s.  Trump's "Good people on both sides" comment early in his Presidency was a shot in the arm for the KKK, America's neo-Nazis, and those with smouldering anti-Black resentment. The observable fact that the faces at Trump's rallies are mostly white is not just a coincidence.

And your comments about Hitler are bang-on.  I know that some will roll their eyes at comparisons between Trump and Hitler, but they shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea.  Democracy is a fragile beast and should not be taken for granted. Germany was a solid liberal democracy until Hitler came along.  There are tens of millions of people in the USA who would be delighted at the prospect of America becoming a right-wing dictatorship, with Trump as President-for-life.  If Trump wins re-election, you can be sure that he will think about it.  And bootlickers like Jim Jordan, Rand Paul, Lindsey Graham, and Mitch McConnell will be right there to help him.

What gets me, as someone with German  blood in me, and cousins who continually apologise for Germany’s past, is how somebody with such disregard, and pathetically comical patriotism for blacks, and outright support for those who choose to show support for violence and downright aggression towards a race, is comfortable in thinking he is the man to lead the free world.

He is the most dangerous individual of power, outwith the grip of old soviet views,  that the western democracies has known, ever.

He's said some degrading things before obviously but not usually about people his supporters give a **** about. This is different though. This should be absolutely huge. Even the people defending him will surely think twice. They'll be tainted by the same shit. The defense Secretary now defending him when it will come out beyond doubt one day that he said this stuff. Utterly bizarre.

And right there you're illustrating a striking difference between post war Germany and post civil war USA to this day. The Germans have been apologetic since the end of the war right to this moment about what happened.

Contrast that to the glorification of the Confederates who fought to maintain the enslavement of other human beings. To this day they're being glorified. What else is a statue and a Confederate flag but glorification?

What would peoples thoughts be if Germany were littered with statues of Hitler and his underlings plus generals? If millions of Germans were proudly flying Nazi flags because hey, it's a part of their heritage isn't it?

That's effectively what's happening to this day in the US.

Latest polls as of last week...and I've spoken to a couple of veterans on twitter about this, is 50% of enlisted service personnel and 60% of officers in favourability of Biden.

Voting %'s are 41% Biden 37% Trump and 22% undecided.

Those 22% are quite honestly a joke.

I'd be struggling to find much positive to say about the 37% as well...

I made an post referring to the Weimar Republic before it was dismantled and replaced by the Nazis. Many people are probably unaware that in the last democratic elections before the Nazi takeover they were not getting a majority of the votes.

The German federal election in 1932 resulted in the Nazis getting 37% of the votes. Interesting number?

The Nazis did not do as well as Hitler had hoped. In spite of massive violence and voter intimidation.

Sound familiar?

He's not the best option. But by ****, he's certainly not the worst.

Biden's a one term President, let's be honest. The battle then becomes Trump's spawn, plus Pompeo, Cruz & Cotton versus Beto, Kamala, Warren & A.N. other.

Trump's the 37%...[edit] unless I've misread your figures.
