As the title states...

I’ll start off with Kitchen at ER 2 years ago, completely overrun the whole game.

Kitchen, who now plays alongside Zlatan every week - funny old game!

Gordon Petric every game

Petric v Latapty gave me the fear.

The Only time I had genuine concerns v that mob was that 2 seasons or so.

That "duel" typified why.

?

Same thing me that James was with us, utter shite every game.

Captain America

Sowah against Partick at Firhill with Cathro in charge.

Actually could include most who played in that game apart from Walker ( who seemed concussed after head knock in the first minute) and Sam Nicholson.

It was Witteveen I was thinking of, not Makela

Oshaniwa at Firhill. He spent much of the game about 20 yards out of position. Monumentally incompetent.

He is the worst I've seen overall.

Likley because allot of shite players only play 1/2 games then disappear, he played more and was really bad every time.

Basics where completely missing.

16 caps for his country and chosen to go to the World Cup. A genuine modern mystery.

The same, that is, as Craig Levein.

The Apprentice

Kurskis at home to ICT. Booked for conceding a pen (which was scored) and then getting stupidly sent off when we had already made 3 subs, meaning Wallace had to go in goals.  All in the game after he dropped a routine catch at Ibrox to lose us the game.

Ricardo Fuller was absolutely horrendous in his first game as I recall. Might have even been against Hibs?

I remember sitting in the away end at Fester road when he made is debut, I turned to my m8 who also had turned to me and we both laughed and said he was never a football player ! Oh how wrong we were lol

And Sowah played centre half after Aaron Hughes was injured in the warm up.

The Greek imposter in centre mid came off the back at full time with his White strip spotless.

We were promised a reaction after the Hibs game the midweek before and we were shit.

Hugh Burns.

Dreadful player. Sure he came as part of the McPherson deal in that we couldn't have McPherson unless we took Burns as well.

Amawankaa's total touches of the ball in any of his appearances for us combined would lead me to suggest any one of his performances.

It's one of the few times I've properly lost it at a match.

Some of these (Witteveen etc) are just really poor players.

Hughes' cameo at Livvy, as mentioned already, was unbelievable.

Also recall Jankauskas having a shocking, petulant, lazy game in a 0-4 at home to Dundee Utd to the point even Hearts fans were calling for a red card after a poor challenge. Two weeks later we won 1-0 at hibs in the "shoes off" game.

Leigh Jenkison away at Dunfermline, new year 1998/99

Bingo -  sure it finished 0-0 which was in the middle of a 13 match winless run.  Truly abysmal player for us.  We singed David Lilley at the same time and he was gash as well.  Thankfully Colin Cameron returned from injury or we may have got relegated that season.

Me to.

Mind Cathro standing at the end of the game looking shellshocked then had to walk to tunnel in the corner.

Alex MacDonald

Tommy Harrison coming on as a sub in a League Cup tie against St Johnstone at Tynecastle in ‘94 when we were 2-1 up, or drawing 2-2, and being subbed himself when we went 4-2 down, not because of injury, but because he was a utterly rank, showing zero interest in making anything happen, or working up a sweat.

jambos are go!

Tall and Concalves formed the most inept and incompetent Centre Back partner ship I have ever seen in a Hearts team. Mind you Con calves came back from a loan spell at N uremburg a very competent defender.

Hans Eskillson takes the biscuit though as a total non footballer.

John Sutton in that league cup final. Like playing with 10 men. Compare his performance to Stevenson in the same game.

Grzelak vs hibs certainly up there

Was Straceny subbed on and then subbed off in a game for being so poor?

Pick almost any team from the late 70’’s or early 80’s (pre Doddie) and there are plenty

Brian McNeil, Archie White, Bobby Masterton and Stewart Gauld spring to mind.

Was as a hard time to be a Jambo

rudi must stay

Yes Kitchen is a good shout. To not play a forward pass or a pass 5 yards effectively, as he did most matches in a Hearts shirt, is disgraceful. I thought Liam Smith was a poor full back to be honest, him v Aberdeen a few years ago he was awful and did nothing right. Also we had many years of Nade being terrible, as well as the Ismael Goncalves years, by then I don't think he could be bothered. I can also recall a game v Dundee Utd where Pinilla (I think this place remembers him too fondly) was just back from injury, you could have picked any fan in the stand and they'd have done as well.

Ye we are spolit for choice on this topic

This - though add to that Crawford  Boyd. Utterly gash.

Martin Petras had an absolute nightmare at Tannadice to the point where Robbie Neilson was given a hero's reception as his replacement.

He was shite all the time tbf. As another poster mentioned, it's only really noteworthy if they were capable of good performances and offered up an out of character shocker
