I remember Richard Keys once saying games are never moved for the benefit of TV ?

I genuinely hope this stays on the Saturday because we are playing Rangers on the Wednesday before are we not?

I'm sure it's;

Aberdeen home 30th March

Rangers away 3rd April

Hibs home 5th April

Edit:

According to the Hearts website, the above fixtures are correct. Can't see how we will play on the Friday.

To be fair, this will be the last derby of the season.

Hibs will be in the bottom 6 and probably struggling to stay up (I hope).

As it is the last derby of the season and we are due to give them a good old rodgering, I hope as many people see it as possible!

Interesting that this date is being talked about because there is a full fixture card scheduled for Wednesday April 3rd. We have Rangers at Ibrox. So our fixture would have to get moved to Tuesday 2nd. However it’s Celtic Rangers the weekend before, so if that got moved to Sunday lunch time then we wouldn’t be playing Rangers on the Tuesday it would be the Wednesday and therefore unable to play on the Friday night.

Make sense?!!

Lord Beni of Gorgie

Hibs Rangers the week before. Depends if that games on a Sunday. If not our Ibrox visit  could yet be moved to the Tuesday.

derby under the lights is fine once in a while but the last 6 league have all been 745 kick off (apart from the last one 530)

Ah shite. Just realised I'm away at the Grand National that weekend. What an oversight.

I've paid my deposit to go with Blackpool Promotions with the usual guys, but realised before paying it that there was a clash. Hoping the final arrangements for the game are finalised before the final payment, because I've told the guys I'm not missing a home derby.

Would need to be Sunday,  or even an unlikely Monday for me to go to both.

Me too, 4.30 train home on the Sunday, so early Sunday kick off for me.

Me too. Old man’s 60th. Idiot booked it before checking the fixtures. Unlike him.

Staying over the Saturday so will dispatch the wife and my mum back to London on  Sunday morning and get the train up if the times work out.

They'd have to move the rangers game to the Tuesday, but that would depend on the rangers playing on the Saturday, not the Sunday, the previous weekend.

For once, please just give us a Sat 3pm derby ???

That would spark mass outrage over how the tv companies were ignoring the Edinburgh derby!

The English TV games games haven't been announced for April yet. The Derby will be arranged that. Rangers are away to motherwell on that date so that will likely be another tv game.

I’m not back from holiday until 11th April, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the game gets moved back 6 days to the following Friday ?.

Yes

There’s a few that leave from St Andrew Square on the Friday.

That's one of the ones I go on, staying at the Norbreck. This will be my 3rd time, was there last year and 2016 too.

Can’t see it being the Friday and if it’s not 3pm Saturday then I’d happily have it at half 5 again!

Also there isn’t really a standout fixture from the English championship to clash with the 5.30 slot

Possibly mentioned before but I thought all the last games before the split had to be played on the same day at the same time?

Isn't that what has always happened?

Nah I don't think that has ever been the case. Only applies to the last game of the season.

Last season 5 fixtures were played on the saturday and Celtic game was the Sunday. There's also been a number of years where sides that have wen't further in the cups/had cup replays so have been a game or behind when it came to game week 33 (Also sure there is a free week inbetween to account for such things)

I’ve been for a few years in a row now. We had a booking at the Norbreck last year which got cancelled due to overbooking.

We’ve stayed at the Queens for a few years now. It’s not bad and close to a few pubs and a casino.

Be a shame to miss it this year but being at a home derby comes first.

All derbies are televised so we’ll never get a Saturday 3pm again. 5.30 again or 12.30 on a Saturday would be ideal.  Not a fan of Sunday games.

Can't see any time for the game that would mean managing both unfortunately. Best hope for me is that the Friday night rumour is true and then at least will be able to watch in a boozer down there.
