Was at the Edinburgh City game today and the boy who provides the stewards/security there also provides Tynecastle. He was saying he's been told to expect around 100.

Surely you missed a zero

Nope.

100 is what he said. It was commented upon as being Hamiltonesque.

No idea where he got the number from. Does seem a bit light.

Well we would keep roughly £95k from that idea from that whereas tomorrow we are looking at taking in about £40,000 so OP’s idea has a lot of merit. What happens though when we have no home cup game in a season eg last season.

Unless we draw His, one of the arse cheeks or the sheep as the first tie at home, then the £95k looks really poor as tickets for that game would expect to sell for £25+/£15-£20 concessions.

Compared to tomorrow? Can’t plan on getting one of the big clubs at home in the cup every year. We have had Hibs, a lot,  and Celtic in recent times but that’s unlikely to continue. I think if we were guaranteed to get close to £100k from our first home cup tie each season then over the long-term it would be a great deal.

True but the club has always said that cup run money is not taken into account for the following years budget.  I can understand not wanting to risk a potential big payday by adding the 1st home cup ties to our tickets.

Was the retake not the 4  3 game. Davidson of Airdrie was the ref.

You could be right. Sometimes I worry about myself ?

Celtic v Airdrie attracted 29,941 and was also televised so a crowd of anywhere from 9k upwards would seem to be fairly decent. Celtic also had a couple of new signings for fans to see live for the first time but may have been lacking any feel good factor after their Old Firm humbling.

I thought I'd look at their forums to see if there was any indication.

One forum has one post about the game. The other has 5 posts.

Reckon if the game is dull we'll be able to kill 30 seconds by counting their shite support.

Got a link to it?

Ridiculous question...

Where is the ticket office these days? Has it moved back to the main stand?

Not needed to pick up a ticket for ages!

The Inverness game there were hundreds waiting in a ticket queue before kick off and they had to open extra areas so expect possibly C and D also?

I have a good seat at the end of the row between B and C so it will be interesting to see how busy it gets.

They had to open it eventually

Me and the missus are going to wander round and sit in the same row now that you can access all stands hopefully the bladder holds out ?

Sad to relate, but J-I-H was unable to complete his purchase despite having joined a questionably long queue
