Souttar & Ikpeazu

Souttar possibly, but Uche was struggling on crutches and a boot less than a fortnight ago so I’d be shocked if he’s even back running by the end of Jan.

I can't see souttar on the bench. I think we will go

               Bobby

   Souttar Dunne Berra

Smith                      Mitchell

         Harring Djoum/bozanic

             Naismith

        Uche    Vancek

Criags got a job on his hands picking a team.

Hard to accommodate a natural wide player like Morrison into that kind of system

Thats the team, though maybe Harry instead of Bozanic.

Thats some team. Would still like to bring in a more experienced wide player to give us options.

I would use Morrison when teams are tired just move the the wingbacks up and swap Smith with him, I would start Morrison and Mulraney over Demi and Smith for games against teams with a older defence like hibs just for the pace and energy they have.

Was supposed to be March before he is back I won't build my hopes up for an earlier return.

4-4-2 in a diamond mate. Solid team who get the ball forward quick.

Brilliant news to see they are both likely to be back in action ahead of schedule. Second half of the season is going to be good if we can keep everyone fit

I would think we will see Vanacek up front with Uche coming on as an impact sub  to start with, and Morrison or another wide player in support

Understand why you say that but when team was going well the Smith/Morrison partnership worked really well

Article says

"management at Riccarton expect both to be ready in around six weeks' time"

though also

"That might be slightly early but they are still a little bit away so it's more difficult to say for sure"

Now that's a football team.

I agree can't imagine Uche and Vanacek both starting more likely one or other with Naismith, Djoum or Clare supporting.

I'm no expert (to say the least) but I remember seeing MDV on crutches the Saturday before he scored two against Braga away (midweek).

Why exactly did Uche do to his foot? I'm not sure I've ever read what the damage was.

He launched the latest Space X rocket by kicking it.

why do people still pick Mitchell, he's been rank all season and can only be ahead of garucchio because man u have insisted he play when fit

He has been.  He is not looking like a left back or wing back at all.

In terms of Uche being in a boot, I'd assume that's just to give it maximum protection.  He's doing gym work etc, so once that comes off and he's comfortable on it he'll likely be good to go shortly after.

Both back in January would be a big boost, especially up top.  We'd go from over reliance on Maclean  to having Naismith, Vanecek, Uche, Maclean and Wighton as options.

Spoke to Uche on Sunday and he said the boot is coming off this week and he would be back for Jan definitely, looking forward to pairing up with DV!

2 months early? If they weren't so useless it would have been 3 months early.

Raging.

The big front man was ruled out for five months with a broken foot suffered during a 50-50 challenge with Motherwell 'keeper Trevor Carson earlier in the season.

The direct result was a goal for Hearts and a 1-0 win, but the cost was great after it was revealed Ikpeazu had fractured his foot.

Craig Levein explained they were unable to diagnose the injury due to it's nature, but it was the equivalent of a car driving over someone's foot.

I posted on another thread that I think he had a Lisfranc injury. There’s a Wikipedia page on it if you’re interested, but basically it’s a disruption of the bone & ligament complex in the midfoot, which can be hard to spot without weight-bearing views (which is how Uche’s injury was diagnosed).

Yes, I believe Uche had to have a pin inserted in his foot.

Will go with that.3 of the best defenders in the league.Feel that the team has to built around them.

Just have to hang in there in the meantime.A wee blizzard or two wouldn't go amiss?

Strong squad for 2nd half of season.  Very positive vibes, pure dark horse material. We're waiting in the wings when rangers or celtic do a gerrard aka slip up.

Yeah, I know what caused it and that is being classed as broken but surely it can't of been that trendy break that Rooney and Beckham got. Must have been much more severe for 5 months out.
