Win ugly who cares

we have just came off a shocking run, had some horrendous refereeing decisions against us and lost half our team that make us tick and have made the other players tick and that's 4 points out of 6

if we need to grind out some more ugly performances and results who cares. These results even if we didn't play well will give the team more confidence and if we can just get a little bit more momentum moving toward the new year when we get souttar, dunne, naisy, uche and vanacek coming in we will be a different side moving into next year

winning 10 in a row, 2 of which are 'ugly' wins is highly commendable

losing 5, wining ugly and losing the next 5 is ultimately pointless

consistent results is what are important,

Our next results will determine how valuable today's ugly win was IMO

Understand that and your right it's for nothing if we drop off again ...

just don't dont lose sight of the circumstances where the games were won and lost in the first place

League table cares not a jot how you play, points are all that matter.

I'd rather grind out unconvincing wins than play good football and get beat (like the manky mob in leith)

3 points today, never in danger. We set ourselves up with everyone to do a job and they did it. Yes we could have pressed more but we restricted Motherwell to nothing.

This was not an 'ugly/hit and hope' win, it was a win with purpose.

Yeah. It's a good run of games we have. Chance of a good unbeaten run.

Absolutely.

Ideally we would have won some of the previous 7 games with performances like today's

Irregardless i think we can look forward to the Scottish cup with optimism as our players join/return. If we can put a series of results that open a possibility of a high league finish, all the better

You're right Gambo - we did what we had to do with the resources we had

It augurs well for when Naismith, Uche, Souttar are back and Vanacek arrives

The most pleasing thing about the start we made this season was our ability to win “ugly” games. Killie away being a great example. We’d lost that grit without Berra. He sets the tone and the rest follow. Much bigger influence than Naismith, Naismith is huge but Berra is a rock.

But for the absolutely criminal performance of match officials, since Berra returned, we should have won 2, drawn one.

Absolutley this. The packed midfield suggested this scoreline and performance where what we saw as the best way of winning/grinding it out today.

This win was no accident. Well done CL

We've won uglier than yesterday imo. Did what we had to do against a team of ****ing giants set up to spoil the game as a spectacle (and the media and others have the cheek to bang on about Hearts being a big strong outfit). What little decent football was, imo, played by us. There just wasn't enough of it.

Agree . Interesting Levien chose not to make a substitution at the end of the game . He knew that a win was crucial .

Team has had a hard time in recent games , not all self inflicted . Confidence is massively important.

In my opinion we played some great football against Kilmarnock, nice to watch but we got beat .

Few flashes of football yesterday but difficult against Motherwell .

Players will be feeling happier this morning compared to post Killie game

Killie was a smash n grab and of all games on recent slump was the one we absolutley deserved all 3 pts.

I’ll take a carbon copy of that exact game over a game where we dominate and play amazing football only to not leave with the win. Feck performance, the only stat that matters is the one in the top left corner of the TV.

rudi must stay

Clearly confidence is low in the team. A few more of those needed.

Berra is the difference. I have never seen him not win a header.

Definatly. And his forward punts get us moving forward and give our opposition something to think about, a few of those will lead to goals this season. I would put money on that
