Pre-game Press Conference - A question to the Journalists

Mr Kipling

Recommended Posts

Dear journalists who attend the Tynecastle pre-match press conference every week with Craig Levein - Please can you ask Craig Levein the following question:

"Would you consider playing Demi Mitchell on the left wing in a more attacking role? and if not, why not"?

Cos Man U want him playing defensive

Is this actually known, or a JKB opinion that is fast-becoming fact?

Because we're solid enough at the back and we prefer an attack minded fullback to cause the opposition problems.

It's a risky strategy but one worth taking rather than inviting attacks with a rigid defensive set up.

Where's the evidence for that?

You are assuming something you don't know

Was played in front of left back first game back so I don't think it is that.

I think Hearts play Mitchell at left back  to give more / different attacking options.

Just hasn't been working too well.

He can’t defend. He’s terrible in the air.

I really like the attacking threat he brings but if he’s not going to be played further forward I’d not play him and, if Man U want him played only as a LB I’d send him back

Back three gave him more opportunities to get forward and he actually had a good defensive performance, including a great clearing header.

Much better today for sure, got involved, showed for the ball much more like last seasons Demi

Proof of the op's opinion in today's performance. He's a good attacking midfielder and a poor defender.

At what point was his defending poor today, because he did defend?

I was actually surprised he was started so high up the park - I was very pleased he did.

I thought he was actually much better today and it shows, in my opinion, that he has better attacking ability than defending ability. Hopefully CL will exploit Demi's attacking attributes more in the coming weeks.

If a left back is needed for certain games, play Garrucio.

With Berra beside him in back 3.

Mitchell did well today. Pleased for him.
