Rab87
Pizzeria 1926 is very very good if you love pizza.
Morgan
Was in B & D’s Kitchen (Chinese) in both January and April of this year. Very good and very authentic with plenty of Chinese people eating there (a good sign imo). 214 Dalry Road, opposite the staircase that takes you up to Polwarth sort of area. Doogz
Locanda De Gusti is the pick of the bunch but, Pizzeria 1926, Mia, First Coast, B&Ds Kitchen & La Casa are all excellent too.
William H. Bonney
RiveRLife is excellent.
Flimsy
Dalry has several quality restaurants these days. I recommend using Tripadvisor when booking anything at all. I'd suggest anything with an average rating below 4.5 out of 5 isn't great.
the general
Aye Dalry is really punching above its weight nowadays... all the above are excellent!! You also have Pizza Geeks and a steakhouse on Dalry Road near the clock
the general
La Case is on Itison today 19 quid for 5 or 6 tapas and 2 drinks Obviously can not be used until after the festive period but a good deal
FWJ
Another shout for First Coast it’s sort-of Scottish themed (but not in a tartan & Loch Ness Monster way) so your US friends might like that. Interesting to read about La Casa - fancy giving it a go.

The Old Tolbooth
Chop Chop at Haymarket is outstanding, the banquet is to die for and you can order anything you like after it's done for no extra cost, it's brilliant!

Agree with this.. you need to book at all of these (not pizza geeks.. Which I love) but Dalry is actually one of the best places to eat in Edinburgh at the moment. Locanda is the No.1 Italian restaurant in Edinburgh according to trip advisor.
Alex
Another vote for Mia, my Mum goes there every couple of months but loves that they remember her by name and how she takes her coffee etc.
