I'm A Celebrity 2018 confirmed line-up

Rita Simons

Former EastEnders star Rita Simons is heading into the jungle.

It's been two years since her character, Roxy Mitchell, was killed off in dramatic scenes on the BBC soap.

The actress, 42, isn't the only famous member of her family.

She's the niece of billionaire businessman and The Apprentice star Lord Alan Sugar - but he doesn't know she is going on yet.

“We’ve had to keep coming into the Jungle a secret and so no, I haven’t told my Uncle yet. But I bet you he will watch it," she says.

It's said that Rita is hoping her time in the jungle will help her health struggles with ADHD, OCD, anxiety and insomnia.

Former EastEnders star Rita was persuaded to go in the Jungle by former contestant, and on-screen father, Larry Lamb.

Rita, who played Roxy Mitchell for ten years until her character was killed off in 2017 in the BBC1 soap, spoke to the Archie Mitchell star about entering camp.

She says: “I am excited about going in the Jungle. I know quite a lot of people who have done it including Larry Lamb. Larry is like my Dad and he is always advising me. He said he couldn’t advise me more to do it as he had the best time ever.”

Emily Atack

Inbetweeners actress Emily - who is related to Paul McCartney through her granny - is also heading to Oz.

There is also the added draw of her rumoured 'fling' with Strictly star Seann Walsh. Following the pictures of him kissing his professional, married dance partner Katya in the street - more snaps were revealed of him and Emily looking very close together in a pub.

Fans and TV bosses will be hoping she spills the beans on what really happened between them back in 2016.

Emily has not ruled out finding love in the jungle.

She said: “I have no idea how it is going to be but what I would say is that this is probably the most challenging thing I have ever done. But I am up for it. Acting is easy!

“I am single at the moment. And never say never (to finding a romance in the camp). We are in a situation where we are all not going to smell our best, nor look our best and I can’t really imagine it happening but hey, who knows?! It’s a bit of fun!”

Emily is a stunner (Image: emilyatackofficial/Instagram)

Admitting boredom can cause her to be mischievous, Emily says the last thing she will want is to have an argument.

She says: “When people say ‘I have got something to say’, I am like ‘please don’t! I don’t want to know what you think of me. If you have something negative, say it behind my back.’ I am not confrontational at all.”

Emily’s family – which includes her mum, impressionist Kate Robbins, ex-Corrie star Ted Robbins, and The Royal actress, Amy Robbins – admits they were initially worried about how she would cope but now they can’t wait to watch, albeit from behind the sofa cushions, as she tackles the trials.

“Now it is getting closer, everyone is really excited,” she says. “Our family is very close and even though half of them will probably have their heads in their hands, I am hoping I can prove that I am a survivor!”

John Barrowman

John isn't fussy he will be jungle king or queen (Image: ITV)

Actor and singer John Barrowman has previously starred in Doctor Who and was nominated for a BAFTA for his role as Captain Jack Harkness, who also appeared in the spinoff series Torchwood.

Barrowman has a background in theatre, having starred in Broadway and West End productions of Cinderella, Miss Saigon, Sunset Boulevard, Company and Hair.

He's also an accomplished singer, making eight studio albums and performing on several soundtracks for his theatre productions.

The 51-year-old admits he has a phobia of confined spaces, jumping out of planes and is allergic to sellfish.

Captain Jack is back

Admitting he is both excited and nervous about going into the famous TV camp, the 51-year-old thinks people will be surprised when they discover he is one of this year’s contestants.

“My fans will freak out,” he reveals. “I think they will be surprised but I have known for quite a while and I am both excited and nervous now. I like a challenge, I like a competition and I might make some new friends out of it. To be blunt, it will also be nice to have some ‘me’ time! Nobody will be able to get in touch, text or email. I know it’s a game and I am not going in to be a misery.”

“And I would be over the moon if I won. I would be the King or Queen of the Jungle.”

James McVey

The Vamps star will be singing in camp (Image: ITV)

Vamps star James McVey was spotted touching down at Brisbane Airport on Monday.

He told the Mirror: “I have been to Australia four times but this is the first time on my own.

“I am a bit nervous about going in the jungle but I am looking forward to it, it is a challenge.

“I am scared of spiders so I am not sure what I have signed myself up to. But apart from that I should be alright.”

James McVey (Image: Tim Merry / Daily Star)

The guitarist and vocal singer says it’s a ‘dream come true’ to take part in I’m A Celebrity after watching it religiously for the past 15 years.

Readily confessing he is stepping completely out of his comfort zone, James explains he wants to test himself and take on something very different to what he is normally used to.

“It’s only just starting to sink in,” he says. “But this is a dream come true for me. It’s probably the only show I have watched throughout my life so I am really excited to be part of it!

“I want to do something that puts me outside of my comfort zone. I am so much more nervous about this than I would be going on stage to perform a gig.”

Do you think this is a good line-up?

YES

NO

Sair Khan

Sair has left the cobbles (Image: ITV)

Coronation Street actress Sair Khan was the fifth celebrity confirmed for the jungle when she was spotted arriving in Australia.

Sair told the Mirror: "I just wanted to come to Australia again because I love it here, I have been before.

"Jennie McAlpine (her Corrie co-star who has been on I'm A Celeb) told me to enjoy it and have the best time."

The Corrie star, who has played Alya Nasir for nearly five years, is looking forward to using her Jungle experience to show how different she is away from the cobbles.

Sair Khan (Image: Tim Merry / Daily Star)

Asked what she is most worried about and Sair replies: “The weirdest thing for me is going in as myself. My character is so different to me. She is serious, stern and she can be uptight. I am the opposite!

"I am such a goof, I am always laughing, being cheeky and I don’t take myself too seriously. I guess people haven’t seen me and I want them to like me! If they don’t like her, that’s fine as it is a character but if they don’t like me, then that will be hard to take.

Coronation Street bosses have, she says, been hugely supportive of her decision to take part and they have been busily rearranging a few episode schedules to fit everything in. “Alya will be busy working,” adds Sair.

Nick Knowles

Nick is bringing DIY skills to the camp (Image: ITV)

DIYSOS host Nick Knowles was spotted arriving Down Under on Monday November 12, making him the fourth star confirmed for the I'm A Celeb line-up.

He told the Mirror: "I am looking forward to going to Perth to look at the wildlife and I am hoping to swim with whale sharks.

"I'm A Celebrity, is that on at the moment? Oh, there must be a whole load of people coming through the airport at the moment."

Nick is said to be one of the most expensive signings to date as producers dug deep in ITV’s pockets to secure him.

Nick Knowles (Image: Tim Merry / Daily Star)

He has previously talked about going into the jungle, telling Lorraine Kelly: “I think it would be quite fun to do because of all the trials, I quite fancy having a go at that. I’d rock the hat.

“I get asked every year and I’ve always said I wouldn’t do it but who knows? I got a little boy who needs looking after and if it comes to it I’ll never say never."

The TV presenter thinks people will be surprised he has decided to take part in this year’s show as he vows to help his fellow celebrities with the physical challenges faced living in a stark camp.

Nick is currently single but he has, however, ruled out finding love in the Jungle.

He says: “I don’t think a romance that starts in the cauldron of an experience like that is going to last outside so I am not (looking for romance).”

Malique Thompson-Dwyer

Malique is heading to Oz (Image: ITV)

Hollyoaks star Malique Thompson-Dwyer was the third famous face to land in Australia.

The soap hunk, 20, who plays Prince McQueen, did not want to confess to taking part and muttered simply, “I'm here on a vacation, mate,” before being helped into a car by an ITV minder.

As one of the youngest contestants in the camp, the Hollyoaks actor is looking forward to playing plenty of pranks on his fellow celebrities.

He also pledges not to rule out finding love under the Jungle stars.

“Everything is starting to seem real now and I can’t wait,” he says. “When they asked me if I would like to go on I’m A Celebrity, it did take me by surprise. I am a huge fan of the programme and I didn’t expect at the beginning of this year to be asked! It’s going to be brilliant.”

“I have been quite full on with filming on Hollyoaks recently so it’s going to be nice to have a little break – but obviously a very different kind of break! I am taking some time out to do this but when I have finished, I will be back. It’s nice to go on I’m A Celebrity as me rather than as my character, Prince.”

(Image: Tim Merry / Daily Star)

Describing himself as laid back and easy going, the 20-year-old doesn’t think, however, he will get into too many arguments, preferring instead to entertain his fellow celebrities.

“I do like playing pranks and I do play them at work,” he explains. “And so I am looking forward to having a laugh. I don’t think anyone will want to eat my cooking. I will poison them!”

Malique also reckons he won’t break down in tears in the Jungle but he knows lack of sleep and hunger can play havoc with celebrities’ emotions.

“I know it can get boring if you have nothing to do,” he says. “Which is why I want to do the trials!”

Fleur East

Fleur is one of two singers in camp (Image: ITV)

X Factor finalist Fleur has signed up for a stint in the jungle.

The singer - who came runner-up in the 2014 series - has also scored herself a new record deal and hopes to use the show to re-launch her music career.

“Life is a jungle but I like a risk in life, I like a challenge," she told the Mirror after she landed.

"If you don't live on the edge you are taking up too much space. You have to do something to excite you.”

Pop singer Fleur reckons going on I’m A Celebrity will be way tougher than performing live on stage and facing Simon Cowell on The X Factor.

The runner-up of The X Factor in 2014 also admits she’s been in denial for months leading up to her arrival that she’s actually going in the Jungle.

“Every time I think about it, I get butterflies in my stomach,” says the 31-year-old. “I have been in denial that I am going in. I have never done anything like this before and neither have I ever camped or slept outside.”

(Image: James Gourley/REX/Shutterstock)

Fleur, whose debut album was released two years ago, says it’s the fear of the unknown, which is the scariest prospect.

“It’s that not knowing what you are going to have to face that I am dreading the most,” she explains. “I am scared of everything you have in there and I am scared of all the trials!

"Any trial you face there you haven’t faced in real life. I can’t imagine what it will be like. At least you have an element of control with the singing and dancing. With this, there is no control and it is completely outside my comfort zone.”

As for whether she would like her stint on the top ITV series to lead to different work opportunities, Fleur hopes it will open new doors.

“I love what I do and I am so grateful for being given this opportunity,” she adds. “But hopefully it will open doors. I have, however, been in the studio for the past few months and I’ve got new music ready to go out.”

Harry Redknapp

Harry will give the team talks (Image: ITV)

The Mirror revealed that legendary football manager Harry is flying out to Australia.

The former Spurs and West Ham gaffer, who was sacked from Birmingham City in September 2017, is believed to be trousering more than £100,000 for the show.

A source said of him joining I’m a Celebrity: “Harry is never anything less than good value. He’s had a long, interesting career and knows a lot of famous people. He’ll be fun to watch.”

Football fans will he hoping Harry, who is dad to Jamie and uncle to Frank Lampard, spills some secrets from his three decades in management.

Redknapp, 71, is unlikely to be much use in the jungle, having previously admitted that he would struggle to get through a day without wife Sandra to prop him up.

He said: “I wouldn’t cope. I’m useless. She treats me like a baby. She does everything. I can’t cook, I can’t make a coffee, I can’t do nothing.”

Harry Redknapp has given the thumbs up to I'm A Celeb (Image: Tim Merry / Daily Star)

The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham manager reckons going into the Jungle will be far easier than being the boss of a losing football team.

He admits he’s never actually watched the programme, but jokes that some of the players he has managed in the past might not want the coffin to open if he’s locked in one with creepy crawlies during a trial.

Reflecting on the reaction of his sporting colleagues when they find out he’s signed up, Harry says: “I think they will be surprised. Some of the players I have managed when I go in the coffin trial will hope it doesn’t open up! I am sure they will watch it. Hopefully they will laugh!”

“There’s nothing tougher than being a manager of a football team when things aren’t going well,” says Harry. “

When the results are bad, believe you me being a manager is a very tough, lonely occupation. You feel responsible however many people support your team every week. The buck stops with you. You haven’t got many friends when it’s not going well as a football manager. So no I don’t think doing this will be tougher.

But to be honest, I have not actually watched the programme! I watch sport all day and all night when I’m at home and we are out three to four nights a week.”

Anne Hegerty

(Image: ITV)

The Chase's Anne was another big name revealed by The Mirror.

She plays the role of fierce brainbox The Governess on the hit ITV gameshow.

Anne, 60, definitely has the edge on knowledge – she is a regular visitor down under as she also appears on the show’s Aussie version.

Anne will remember fellow campmate Harry as someone who lost cash as he crashed out of a 2016 charity episode of The Chase – on a question about football.

She has been very open in public about the fact she does have Asperger’s.

However, she does not want her fellow celebrities to feel sorry for her in the jungle.

“I do respond well to structure,” says Anne as she reflects on how she will fare in the Jungle.

“I think it will be quite structured in there. I will understand ‘at this time I have to fetch wood and water’ - doing that will make sense.

"But being surrounded by people I can’t get away from or those who talk all the time can be a source of stress.”

The Governess is heading to the jungle

Whilst Anne had not seen an entire episode of I’m A Celebrity before she signed up, she says she is fully aware that life in the camp can be tough.

“I think I have put on weight over the past year and I am not going in for that (to lose weight),” she adds. “I have always refused to do sugar free diets but this is part of the deal and so let’s go for it.”

“I am going to miss the peace and quiet and I am going to be way out of The Governess’ comfort zone in all of this. I will come across a lot more nervous than I do on the show. It will be interesting for people to see me as Anne.

Anne, who is single, doesn’t, however, think she will be starting a romance in the camp.

“I don’t see that happening,” she says. “I sort of managed to establish in my life that relationships aren’t really a thing I can handle.

Wonder what level of fakeness Barrowman will reach?

How long into the show will it be before he puts on his fake shite weegie accent pretending he’s a real Scot?

I'm hoping her career has hit the point where she needs to have porn video "accidently" hacked and released?

He was born in Scotland to Scottish parents and started his schooling here before his family moved to the States. I reckon it still qualifies him to be Scottish despite the accent.

If you watch any part of this, however small, you're part of the problem.

If you are sitting on your arse at home and cannot find any other thing to do, ANYTHING... You're a wrong 'un.

His dog is skint, so told Harry to get in and earn her a few bucks.

Rosie Redknapp is the real winner!

I genuinely only know who 2 of those people are.  Harry Redknapp and Nick Knowles.  The rest, i'm clueless.  Now, i have lived overseas for 12 years but even then, i'm surprised at how little i know of faux celeb culture in the UK now.
