River Plate now refusing to play in Madrid

They must be getting dangerously close to forfeiting the game if they don't accept the governing body's decision.

Anyone with sense can see their point. They've played an away leg and now they're being told they have to play the 2nd at a neutral venue.

Thousands of their fans will miss out now too. Why punish the majority for the actions of the few?

Got a ticket for the game on Sunday, Valencia v Sevilla tomorrow as well.

Cant wait !!!

I almost pulled the trigger on tickets , but the flight times meant having to go for an extra night...all in for a grand.

Surprisingly easy to get the tickets

Not long now until kick off.

No doubt it's already been said many times on here but absolute respect to Real Madrid for stepping in to help out  at such short notice.

Fantastic stadium, great city and absolutely wonderful club.

Anyone know how many tickets have been sold?

Still tickets left apparently

9,000 were given to Real Madrid season ticket holders

Makes sense I suppose.  If any fans know about becoming club champions of a continent then it's the madridistas, the merengues, the blancos.  They've earned the right to be there.

I wonder if CONMEBOL realise that, by making it a game without any "home supporters" is going to completely derail this as a spectacle.

Doubt I'll watch it now.

Watching?  ?

Doubt the Berneabeu has sounded like this in a long long time.

Aye, the Buenos Aires accent is very different from the Madrid accent.

Did one of the captains change ends?  You'd think you'd want to shoot towards your own fans in the second half kent mean.

Very enjoyable 1st half.

Nice to relax and watch the ultimate, must win, derby match between two fierce rivals safe in the knowledge that we won ours 5-1.

Listening to Tim Vickery on the radio saying it’s a master stroke as it firstly shows that Spain is ready to host major games and that boosts their 2030 World Cup bid (ahead of the South American bid) and also introduces the precedent of playing club games on a different continent, which is something Real and Barca are very keen on

Good points.  I like Tim Vickery too. Really knowledgeable and seems like a good bloke.

If Madrid ever play a league game anywhere else but Spain I'll burn my Segio Ramos boxers and never watch them again.
