Cyber
asteroid 2007 TU24 is coming within the moons orbit on the 28/29th january and has a chance of hitting us. Estimates reckon within 300K Kilometres of Earth which is TOO close for comfort. http://www.tu24.org/forums/index.php?showforum=

Gards
Blimey, I just read a fair bit of that stuff on their forum and its scary reading. The youtube video of what could happen is very scary. Don't let it scare you John....there's lots of more reputable sites saying it'll pose no threat. This link isn't reputable but does debunk a lot of stuff in that video http://www.badastronomy.com/bablog/2008/01/21/repeat-after-me-asteroid-2007-tu24-is-no-danger-to-earth/ NASA and JPL all say it won't pose any danger to us.....I'd rather believe them than someone who just sets up a panic web site. Ryan Gosling
534,000km from Earth. One flew past Earth in 2004 that was 6,500km away. Now that's worrying, but this one? It's nothing. It's almost common. And even if it hit Earth, it would destroy a region the size of.....Leith maybe?
