Real seem to be the gift that keeps on giving this season.

Probably still find a way to win it again though...

Would fancy both Liverpool and Spurs to beat this Real Madrid side.

Yeah

It's looking very open this year

Stephane Grappelli

First time in years that Madrid have topped their group.  They are a different beast once the knockout rounds start.

That back four tonight won't play many, if any, more matches together.

Ajax v Bayern looks like it's been a decent game.

Its amazing how Bayern seem to keep making it to the latter stages of this competition with what feels like the same old faces, just with some youngsters breaking through.

There is talk in Germany that they will spend big next summer.

Both Robben and Ribery have already announced they are leaving and there will be others. Think they will undoubtably be big players in the transfer market next summer.

Looking at the 8 group tables I reckon you could have picked the top 2 in all of them before a ball was kicked. Would any of these 16 teams be regarded as a slight upset in terms of making the last 16? No real shocks in that line up.

Group stages are just a money maker with little chance of a smaller team making it through.

The only group that didn't see the expected 2 teams qualifying was Ajax finishing above Benfica and going through along with Bayern. All the rest of the teams who qualified were expected to. The only group out with that one which finished in an unexpected order was Dortmund winning the group over Athletico Madrid on goal difference but that was it.

Fair play that's one amazing draw!

Any of they clubs could go through expect Lyon and Man Utd who are papped.

I expect Schalke to go out and would also say Porto are slight underdogs. The other 4 ties however could be very entertaining.

Tuesday 5th March 2019

Borussia Dortmund v Tottenham Hotspur (agg. 0-3)

Real Madrid v Ajax (agg. 2-1)

I would expect both Spurs and Madrid to go through this evening.

Wednesday 6th March 2019

FC Porto v Roma (agg. 1-2)

PSG v Manchester United (agg. 2-0)

Going for Porto and Paris in these games.  Surely there is no way back for Man. Utd?  An early goal though, and who knows what may happen.

Dortmund game could be interesting, they have the players to come out blitz Spurs and get a couple of early goals. It would then be a case of Tottenham responding to the pressure.

VAR shambles at the Bernabeu. 4 minutes to give the 3rd Ajax goal...and what a goal it was.

Bit of a delay, but getting to celebrate a third goal v Madrid away from home twice would be quality!
