All roads lead to Gorgie

Cuthbert is a livewire but the others need to support her better.

10 minutes to get this crucial 3rd goal.

Stays like this have to hope Poland take something off Switzerland on Tuesday.

Assume it goes on H2H instead of Goal Difference then? Woman on BBC Breakfast this morning said it was GD and we needed to win by 4.

It's not really that popular is it? Despite all the effort to promote it most people are not interested

Is that no Scotland to a tee when it comes to football.

A win but feels like a defeat

Still small crowds obviously but much more interest than just a few years ago. Pity didn’t manage to get the extra goal needed

These women deserve a decent crowd unlike the men's team.

Happy to sign autographs / phots at the end as well

Yeah would have hoped it would have grown more.

Was interesting to hear Julie Fleeting say just how few girls are keen on physical activity at schools.

I doubt it will get much more popular if that's the case

Agreed- interesting point Fleeting made. But from experience, until pretty recently girls weren’t really encouraged to be keen- especially when it came to football. Lots of reasons for it. Interesting to see how it goes in the next couple of decades

Don’t think that’s just girls to be honest now, kids in general- the woman’s game has definitely grown and definitely more professional - fair play

Took my daughter to a handful of Scotland games through her football team. Usually half decent entertainment.

The players are great with the kids afterwards with photos and autographs etc.

be great if the women could qualify.

Failing to sell-out 3 stands at St Mirren despite £5 tickets for "the biggest game of their careers".

You truly come across as a bitter, pathetic wee man on here where women are mentioned.

The earth-shattering irony is entirely lost on you it seems.

Living in New York though I'm not at all surprised.

I don't know. It's more popular than 10 years ago say. Hearts are improving.

Plenty girls play down at Spartans. Glasgow City and Hibs both out in front by a distance at present but, they will get caught. Quite a few of the Scottish team plying their trade outwith Scotland. It's a slow progression but there is progression imho.

Womens football was banned in this country from 1921 till 1971, just  saying.

Misogynistic football authorities we have, aren't going to help promote it, unless they introduce a sectarian element to wimins fitba', you know, like they clubs in the west, they love so much ?

Let the women fund and run their own organisation. Equality and all that.

Completely agree, women’s game has been on a gradual upward trajectory for many years. Hopefully it continues ?

Women's football kept the game alive during the first world war, when female munitions workers used to have factory teams and attract huge crowds. In 1921, the FA got all antsi about the fact that they were still hugely popular and banned female teams from playing on FA grounds - or rather threatened teams with expulsion from the FA if they allowed female teams to play on their grounds.

I'm not sure about the situation in Scotland, but these two sites give some history for the situation in England:

I’m supporting female football, and encourage it. They had a record attendance at their game I believe. Where’s my bitterness??

i just like to call you out as a petty dinosaur. Every ****** time women are mentioned here, there you are. And never in a supportive way.

And, Peter. Your own club actively support women’s football. What do you make of that?

Finally, WTF has living in NY got to do with any of this?

Two things are certain in life between the three of paying taxes, death, and Fleapit having an absolute screeching breakdown whenever someone bashes womens football. Old Rangers have proved the former isn't necessary.

You've had your wee internet argument and cry for the day though so you'll go to bed content.

As for the last line... oh wow, oh wow indeed.

We're playing brilliant. Really intricate play between the attacking forwards and this could be 5 or 6 if we take these chances it's an onslaught.

To answer my own question - it’s 0-0 with Poland looking the slightly better team (statistics wise)

Scotland started very well but been poor last 15. Just waiting on Switzerland game which I think is still 0-0

Edit: Poor is harsh, relinquished command of the game

Like the men we are not very good at defending leads it would seem. Have to be sharper in the second half.
