I think Ikpeazu looks to be our Sow/Fuller/De Vries type unorthodox striker.

I hope he is as good for us as them.

Early days, but looks like a decent prediction

Not been seen in a while....has anyone checked is wellbeing? Or will a defeat prompt his return?

Was on a couple weeks ago , might of been after Raith or Cowdenbeath ripping into me for saying we had played poorly but we have potential this season and could create chances and I thought we had more about us. Basically saying im clueless or similar as I have a different opinion of them

Can count on one hand how many players have left , returned and lived up to their first spell

Unless someone can think of another player, then I agree with you.

Not the best example but possibly Ryan Stevenson?

He was probably better in his second spell considering the players around him and his goal scoring was definitely better.

I did think about him as he kind of carried the team when he returned. Hes on the fringe the other 6 i think are no doubters

Neil McCann

No way are you having that. McCann wasn’t even close to being as good as he was in his first spell.

To be fair your point is very valid rarely have we had players return and be as good.

Still you have set a nice quiz and got everyone thinking :)

Bannon and McCann im not sure they added much , Bannon got a few crucial goals when he came back but he wasnt at a level of the others on his return neither was McCann imo. Thats why im not sure about Stevenson either

Thought Bannon was great for us when he came back but I never saw him first time around and believe he was a much better player first spell. Dundee Utd definitely got him at his best

I’m happy to accept Bannon purely because he did score crucial goals but I believe he was outstanding first time round.

Stevenson was better second time round IMO).

Reading the above youd have to deduce that the majority of players who have left and re signed for the club have been a success

To be fair I was stuck on the 5 players in my post. McCann didn’t even come into my thinking. Was gutted he was gash second time round.

Would i be right in thinking that Levein hasn't brought anyone back that has played for Hearts since he became director of Football? Not anyone that he didn't sign anyway.

Not sure he's gonna start now?

 he was better second time.. Bar was set low though.

As i say though.. Appears that players not being as good second rime around is a bit of a  myth

What i meant was, anyone that was signed while he was director of football and then left.

I think Naismith is the only one but he was one of his signings.

With the exception of Paterson Im not sure wed take many of them back, Sow undoubetly was fantatstic for us and if fit hed be a no brainer.. But injuries may be a problem.

Bannon was excellent  when he came back.

Different type  of player than when he left but still a class act.

McCann - fair enough it never really worked out but there were some mitigating factors.

Steevo - While he left under a cloud - he won us back - screamer at Fester, 2 goals in LC final.

Paterson wasn't signed during Levein's new era either mate lol

But i get your point.

Against many opinions on here. I'd still take Jamie Walker back.

Apart from Pinilla I think this thread has covered every player I can remember having two spells with the club in my time watching them.

Yep.. have to laught at you can count the players whove returned and been a success on one hand

Rudi, slim, bannon, JC, Robbo, webster, berra maybe even stewart

So in summary pretty much everyone weve ever resigned has been a success in relevant terms

Similar to Lafferty though is he not?

Mind his goal against Rangers?

Won the ball and smashed it in. If you get him in the right mindset, he's lethal.
