AndrewB Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Just seen Allan Ramsay's name mentioned in a book. Got me racking my brains. Wasn't there an Allan Ramsay Tavern in the city in the 80s? I didn't know who he was at the time. I do now! When I Google it, though, all that seems to come up is Carlops. Is there an Edinburgh Pub Archive somewhere?

jambo east anglia Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Did any of my fellow old geezers on here take part in the 'inter scholastic' sports days held at the old Meadowbank Stadium? I remember trailing in a distant last while representing Tollcross Primary sometime in the late 1960s, so just before it was bulldozed.

Is it not Nicholson Street looking north? When you were a wee boy it was Leith Provident in Leith and St Cuthbert’s in Edinburgh. Then they joined together in the late 70’s or 80’s.
