Many a night I went and met him to go home for dinner, we weren't a smoochy family, but there was a lot of love and respect there. I am actually glad I cannot go back to the place of my roots, so much has changed and with the changes so much of my past life and history. The Cameo was/is a wee bit further back from the photo ((heading back towards Bruntsfield). The buses are beside what was the Penthouse Bar and are opposite the jewellers that was Jack Levey. That was 1956, and it is still clear in my memory, I guess there was a sense of antagonism between the police and the bad guys, but a limit to even that when possible serious injury happened.
