Once again some fantastic photos which jog the memory. I had a look through the Robert Bloomfield works some really great photos in that work collection.

I'm pretty certain that the street running diagonally up left is Brunswick Street, with Brunswick Road back left and McDonald road back right.  Iona and Dalmeny streets are a good two/three blocks back down the walk from where the photo is taken.

Could be,  I was looking at it being McDonald road in the picture but that would be to the right of the bus , so yeah could well be Brunswick road

Looking at the route on the bus from Seafield to Craigentinny it must have turned up Fillyside Road assuming Fillyside Road was there in those days. No bus uses Fillyside Road today so that area might have been completely different then.

‘And that’s progress

Nothing ever changes. The planner and councillors need to have a long look at themselves yet again.

Got a flying lesson for my 21st (not yesterday!) and flew from here over the Forth and landed in Glenrothes where the pilot refueled the plane and then a wee daunter south to around North Berwick and then back home over Edinburgh, loved it. You can't do that at the now extremely busy EDI.

When I was looking for old pictures last night I came across some facts about the old airport, I think it was operating 8 times over capacity in 72 and they didn’t move to the other side of the runway until 77.

Murrayburn Drive I think.

You could be right - walking towards Murrayburn Road.

Thought it might have been up at Clovenstone initially

It could be. I was thinking its the bit just before the tunnel goung under the dual carriageway, where the lollipop lady used to be to get us across the road to the primary school.

It is Murrayburn Drive. The garage in front of the shopping centre would be up the hill, roughly in the direction the girl in the dark coat is facing. The paths there have changed since they opened up the canal, and the area is not quite overgrown, so a google streetview pic would be useless.

The flats in the middle look out on to Hailesland Road where the buses turn up and down to the Westside Plaza. Agree looks a bit different now
