Brown Square, since demolished and replaced by Chambers Street

T Stormonth, plumbers first appears in the Post Office Directory at 22 Brown Square in 1852-3. In 1858-9 they've moved to 4 Teviot Row but only have seemed to have lasted a couple of years there. I'm assuming Teviot Row was demolished too. Bloody Jonah's that Stormonth guy.

Willie Muir pub at West Granton. Down a wee side road and hidden from the main street. A more desperate collection of dodgy characters in the one place you couldn't imagine.

Thanks, Taz.

It sounds great!

That place could've crumbled by itself.

You can see the sign for Duncans pawnbroker on the right hand side. Lost count of amount of times my family visited that place when I was a bairn.

Nope, going the other way.

That's the slope of Caerketton down to White Hill you can see in the background between the trees and the bus.

No, MS. The bus has either come from Oxgangs or from Buckstone/Fairmilehead direction.

I think it’s the number 15 which means it started at Hillend sort of area. If it’s the 16 it’s come from Oxgangs.

The next stop it’ll be at, on the way down into Morningside, is the one outside South Morningside Primary School.

Which I think is what you told me a couple of weeks ago, is the name of one of the three blocks of flats in Oxgangs where you lived for a while?

I ‘knew of’ some of these guys but reckon it was a wee bit before your time.

Maybe by about 4 or 5 years.
