He won't get much business wearing that horrendous red and white top.  He'd be as well jumping into the taxi, or hopping onto the 17.

You recognise me, huh?

It's amazing how majestic some of our streets & buildings look when there is little or no vehicular traffic on them. Just Imagine going back in time to see how the new town looked when it was first built. From anything I've read on the topic, Edinburgh, by todays standards, was a disease-ridden shithole before the new town was created.

Not sure why the 22 is Part Route to Sighthill. That's where it's terminus was then

It meant the bus wasn't going all the way to the destination shown , so you'd have to ask the driver how far he was going ?

Seconded.

His best thread of last year by a mile.

Another cracker this year with the ‘name the players’ one.

@Maroon Sailor ?

Looking for a photo of a fish wifey that was a regular on the corner of the main road heading up to Buckstone and opposite the Braidburn Park.

Any chance?

Why not just put up how far he was going ? i.e Stenhouse or Saughton Mains

 A perfect example of the ladies of the time, the vast majority would not have been seen on Princes Street without being dressed for the occasion. And the street and the stores had class that deserved it.

Henry Duncan Littlejohn did much in the 1850's to try to clean Edinburgh of disease and pestilence.

I think this photo was taken from the office that I started my working days in. 1987 I started in the  Water & Drainage Dept of LRC. The Malt Shovel was next door to the Toddle In, FOPP and the bake tattie shop further up the street. HAPPY DAYS!
