A noble pitch that will stand up for the down trodden pitches of the world.

So the new pitch will be slightly higher than the old one?

How high the players will be on this grass is probably another question for @Smithee tbh.

That's another question. Guess the could turf it then a couple of weeks later inject it. But believe it works better seeded.

Surely they won’t have time to seed it?

It’ll take at least a week or two to get the under soil heating in and get the sand layer and soil on top.

That would take us well in to June leaving 6 weeks max for the grass to grow from scratch.

I’m no expert but surely it takes longer than that to grow a pitch from seeds to be playable?

Turf takes a few weeks to fully bed in but it can be played on after 2-3 weeks as we saw in Jan 2017, so I’d expect it’ll be that option?

I'd just like to point out that I'm back in Scotland and therefore will have no part in any of those shenanigans...

I mentioned earlier in the thread that I remember noticing the old trafford pitch is raised about 8 inches- looks like I was way out!

I think I remember reading that 6 weeks should be enough, but it's also possible that we're putting in pre grown sods which can be ready a couple of days after installation.

Judging by the pics. The under soil heating could already be in. Look at the video I put in.

The gravel was going in yesterday and the diagram that Primrose posted on the previous page suggests that the heating system goes above the gravel in the sand layer, which is why I was assuming it wasn’t in yet.

He went to Villa and got his leg snapped in two by a thug called Ally Brown.

Cropley was a smashing player at Hibs and very good at Villa until his terrible injury.

Think he drives, or drove, an Edinburgh taxi.

He was sold by

Hibs, to Arsenal,  had a spell there before moving to Villa, then Portsmouth.

Think that was lower drainage pipes rather than undersoil heating.

You're getting mixed up with Peter Marinello. He played at Arsenal and Pompey. Cropley went to Villa.

Why the feck do the media people at Hearts insist on taking photos facing the Roseburn stand with its crappy faded seats?

Crowley went to Arsenal before Villa. He played for Arsenal opening game of the 76/77 season in a 0-1 defeat to Bristol City. Game noted for Malcolm MacDonald making his Arsenal league debut after his 330,000 pounds transfer from Newcastle United.

I bet as soon as the club sort out the Roseburn then they'll start taking pictures in front of the Gorgie road end!

The Old Trafford pitch was 'elevated' long, long before they installed a hybrid surface.

With the sand already there & levelled does that not mean that the heating pipes are already in (just guessing by looking at that image)???

Perth to Paisley

For (progress) compararison has there been any updates from 'ra Cel'ic' on their new hybrid pitch?

I think we are both doing the same thing (other than their plastic injections are shamrock shape?)

They do it even when there is no sun!! I’d suggest the opposite corner of the Gorgie stand would allow for the sun at their back and the vast majority of the picture would include the new stand. It only cost £15 million after all!!
