McGills of Dundee were responsible for upgrading all the kitchens and bathrooms in all Edinburgh council houses and they went into administration at the start of February.

The level of project management from the council in their roll outs is pathetic. A licence for contactors to print money, how they went out of business is a mystery, s'pose somebody's pockets were lined.

I don't know what happened with McGills but a big concern is these contractors going in with overly cheap bids to win contracts. 

 

Ironic with pressures on the public sector.

Very little profit in that contract.
