Our season will be over if we lose this tie - unless we are fighting relegation.

Serious wheeling and dealing needs done now to get players out and in for the start of January.

3rd time in as many years we've drawn them in the cup. Unreal. Has it been the 4th time every time as well? Or was 3 years ago the 5th year?

Looking forward to it already!

Eh?

Anyway, delighted - bring it on.

The odds of two teams drawing each other three years in a row at this stage of the competition are 29,791/1

The odds of it being Dunfermline away then Celtic home then Morton away are also 29,791-1. Nobody would find that remarkable.

Right, we have 2 months to get our shit together.

Say what you like, call me a pessimistic prick all you want but this current team will get pumped out.

New head coach and a few new players on the pitch is an absolute must if we want to win this.

Thing Is, we can't say we've been unlucky with these radge draws because we should have beat them every time. It's just mental though. Not even excited about this one  was well buzzing for the last two.

Win-win, really. Either we go through or we go out and it's the end for this management team.

If only that were true

As things stand we have absolutely no chance.

They looked poor v saints on Saturday bit of confidence and a couple of good signings we will do them.

Yes they currently have a more creative midfield but that defeat to St Johnstone on Saturday just goes to show they are simply not all that.

Absolutely can't wait.

Sign a good left back, a good cm and a winger and we will win.  It's a decent Hibs team, no more.   There are no excuses allowed

An almost complete revamp of the midfield is needed. Callachan needs drip fed, squad player just now.

Martin and Cowie could be offloaded anytime for me but the latter won’t. Djoum you’d keep because he at least has ability when he’s arsed.

That wouldn’t stop me trying to wheel and deal and by Hearts better judgement bring in two complete c**** to play in midfield who’ll kick baws ,not only of the opposition, but their own team mates too.

We need to find all rounders in there but they don’t grow on trees.

Lets not look for tippy tappy Martin types. We need players who keep the likes of Djoum on their toes , who make our talented players bring out their best.

Insane. This will be the making or breaking of Craig Levein. A repeat of the last 2 years’ spineless disgraces and his tea’s oot. Come on guys, turn them over! It’s only that shower of shit from down the hill!

I can honestly say that this is the first time my heart sank when they came out the hat to play us. They must be rubbing their hands together.

Jesus that was gibberish.

I was trying to ask if it had been in the 4th round every year we had played them or if it had been the 5th in 2016. Think a later poster has clarified that it was the 5th round the past 2 years.

Game on the 27th next month comes first.

A good change to change the tide of recent results against them.

Will set the tone for the cup tie.

Great chance for us to allow usual service to resume. We have to finish them off at Tynecastle this time, they have 3 wins out of 21 games against us at Tynecastle over the past 11 years.

A left back (whether signed or Smith-Brown returning) and a creative midfielder in January and we’ll be a different side, plenty home games to try pick up form and a trial run 27th Dec. Make or break for Levein’s time in charge of the club and I am sure for that reason the players will know it.

Absolutely astounding. I actually can't believe it's happened. Truly remarkable. Who would have thought. Rangers are away from home.

Is this real life????

We played them once in a cup tie in 30 odd years and now routinely draw them season after season.

All I can say is there had i) better be significant investment in the squad the minute the window opens  ii) Craig Levein and his entire coaching staff jobs are on the line. There is simply no way he survives us having another cup defeat to them

Has he ever lost a cup tie to Hibs as manager/ head coach? Probably not.
