Ye, I actually do think you would be better off.

Capitalism just tells folk that they are part of a “wealth sharing society” then they have to go cap in hand to the government for benefits to top up their salaries.
The working poor. Yay capitalism!

I've never went cap in hand to the government for benefits nor would consider myself poor.

Can you tell me exactly how I would be better off?

Come on, we were here a few weeks ago.. You've asked the question, you've been given the answer and you just don't like it. Whether you are for or against the EU, Brussels sets a lot of rules otherwise this thread would be pointless and we wouldn't be calling Boris a law breaking *****.

I'd rather bang nails in my head than go round again mate and stop shouting.

The EU rule deniers are worse than the Flag shagging nationalists in my opinion. You can't pass a law in an EU member state without consideration of EU Law. That's a lot of law.

PS you can easily check our previous discussion by looking at your notifications.

None then.
EDIT: I just checked. No named laws last time round either. Your argument is full of piss n wind. Name the laws or dont but dont pretend this is old ground.

I refer you to my previous answer and I'm not "looking forward" to any of them, but they exist.

Anything to do with food and fishing, Immigration and Trade to the EU.

and as I refreshed my memory I noticed the reason for your amnesia. You need to try and remember what you said to people before you go in swinging.

It's people like you who would make me dread an independent scotland. Let's all work 70 hours a week to subsidise the scummy stay home mummy's.

No, we dont need to work 70 hours. We just need the proper wages and decent jobs.

Not fat cats on several hundreds of thousands of pounds salaries and paying the folk at the bottom a pittance whilst they swan about in Bentleys.

Why are mothers who stay at home "scummy". My mother stayed at home and raised me and my 2 sisters. My father worked a fairly ordinary job but somehow managed to also own a car, feed and clothe us and take us on a summer holiday every year. Funny how salaries could do that back in th eday eh? Now, 1 man supporting a family would need to earn well over £60K to pay a mortgage, run a car and look after 3 kids.

Where did all the money go to pay folk I wonder?

I've mentioned this before but here's 2 of the ruling by the ECJ that were predicated on EU law:-

The ITWF union vs Viking Line

Laval un partneri vs Svenska Byggnadsarbetareforbund

Let's take back control indeed.

And as touched upon dozens of times, EU Law will have influence over such lawmaking a far lesser percentage of the time than the 100% of the time that Westminster can choose to have a say over what the Scottish Government does, because Westminster has absolute parliamentary sovereignty.

Devolved matters are devolved at Westminster's pleasure, and devolution can be revoked anytime because laws—even laws devolving power—can't bind future parliaments, in accordance with the UK constitutional order.

The percentage of powers devolved is tiny as well. Westminster still maintains day-to-day legal control over 80-90% of decisions.

There is zero rational comparison between these two things, and treating them as if they are equivalent is simply not an honest argument.

Boris makes concessions to the Tory rebels, meaning a commons vote will have to be taken in order to invoke the powers in the act.

But many still believe that just passing the act and giving parliament the option of breaking international law is itself breaking international law.

All this diversionary shenanigans is irrelevant.

The clock is ticking away, there will be no deal and no amount of Cummings driven Tory whataboutery is going to mitigate the fact that it will be a wholly self created shitshow.

The 1st is a serious crime and carries a lengthy prison sentence, often life.

The 2nd is a crime for those inclined who act upon their inclinations. If they manage to suppress and do not, it isn’t a crime. A small percentage of people are born that way, can’t help it and have to deal with it. I heard a bloke talking on the radio a few years ago who admitted to being attracted to children and hated himself for it. He said he had never and would never act on it.

The last ? I’ve never voted Conservative and never will. But a crime it certainly isn’t. Where I live, they get over half the vote. Most people are pleasant here, like everywhere. All over the World, people tend to vote for whoever they believe will make them better off. No point in getting into a tizzy over it. I just quietly vote differently. If I was to get abusive and angry at people who vote Conservative, they would just think I’m an idiot and ignore  me. No doubt a few of my work colleagues vote for them and I get on fine with them.

IBS is a blowhard.

Not really sure what that utter irrelevance of a human being is doing over there anyway.

A wee piece of what you try to feed us who want an independent Scotland. Experts have concluded a no deal brexit will hit the economy of the UK, 3x harder than the Coronavirus has.

I read Gove admitted yesterday that a reasonable worst case scenario for cross channel goods movement is a queue of around 7000 HGVs in Kent or delays of 2-3 days.

Apparently the seamless unicorn/moonbeams customs software programme won't be ready (it doesn't exist)

Project.

Fear.

Yup more details here.

Some of us have been banging on about this for a couple of years (well citing the road haulage industry) and denounced as Remoaners and yes, promoting Project Fear.

Incredible that a Government dealing with a pandemic, would seriously consider subjecting the public to this and wouldn't have had the humility to delay the end of the transition period until we are through the worst of the pandemic.

Gove updating parliament about where they are/aren't with the Brexit 'deal'

Basically just a rehash of the fireside favourites of the last 4 years. Lots of jam tomorrow promises for farming and fisheries and the other dafties that voted for it.

Gove has slid in a wee announcement after his statement that HGV drivers will need to have a KAP - Kent Access Permit and have the correct Brexit paperwork to even enter the county. This  internal border will be enforced by Police and ANPR cameras.

As a Scottish Nationalist I'm fecking raging that Kent has achieved secession from the UK and they've not even been asking for it 😂

I got quite frustrated with that shit. Admin staff, forms, lorry parks, paint on the road, road signs, traffic measurements, putting together a system and sharing it with everyone who leaves and enters, creating and debugging software to be used on a large scale. These are serious logistical challenges that needed to be taken seriously much earlier on in the process.

The government have already cluster****ed this and we're not even there yet.

But apparently pointing out there's a giant iceberg headed this way is Project Fear. Still, the EU apparently always bend at the last minute so we'll get our way, right? I mean, they need us more than we need them, right?

I had arguments with my old man on this, sending him videos over a year ago on the road haulage industries concerns.

Not going to be particularly to be proved right if this happens.

Still find it hard to believe a Government would seriously consider this, but the strategy appears to be to blame everyone else for not being prepared!

I feel sorry for England, stuck with the likes Boris, Gove and Rees Mogg, opposed by Keir and thingymabob for the rest of eternity.

Can wait  for Scotland to be reset and fully modernised across the board.

I don't mind either way, if we are part of the EU, or not. Free trade and movement and closer ties to the Nordic pact will do me.

Fishermen will not be calling any shots either.

Bloomberg says its

- the new IT system - Smart Freight - hauliers must use which is still being developed and may not be ready for January 1

- another surveillance IT system GVMS

- a shortage of EU compliant wooden pallets

- shortage of vets to do health checks on animals

- issues around rules of origin

- businesses aren't ready, as busy with Coronavirus

- a Data Adequacy Agreement for businesses that share data with EU

- the extra paperwork for N.Ireland

Stock up on food I think
