Probably a good move for China in their development of the game. Not sure if UEFA would approve though. Opens the argument again for Celtic/Rangers heading south.

Uefa/fifa won't give a toss. There's already several leagues around the world with "guest teams" mostly in Asia.

Thing singapore or Malaysia invite a different team every few seasons to compete in their top league

Didn't know that mate. Thought it was something new and got excited at the thought of Derby & Joan heading south...!

Not entirely sure why having a 20th team would create "an even fixture list".

If there are 19 teams in the league, that's 18 games.  18 home and 18 away leads to 36 overall games, which seems like enough to be honest.

It sounds like too much of a publicity stunt/attention seek to be taken seriously.

Additionally, what sort of level is the 4th division?  Wouldn't the U20's of an international side be better than that?  Can't imagine the Chinese U20's would find it hard against the likes of Cowdenbeath or Berwick Rangers

19 teams means someone gets a 'free' week though which isn't ideal.

Tbh the situation sound engineered and it's just an excuse though, find it hard to believe it wasn't possible to easily find a '20th' within Germany itself.

D'oh, you're right! Never thought about individual weeks, just the season as a whole!

Wider links and opportunities (money) with China will be a motive

China plan to win the world cup by 2050. This is the start of ensuring any new talent will be brought to the German league instead of elsewhere.
