So sad, they'll be loads of kids at that tonight.

You'd probably say around 2/3's of the crowd were kids. Doesn't bode well in terms of numbers of injured and fatalities.

The type of explosion being talked about will have devastating effects on the injured.

Can't get my head around the sort of evil it would take to plan an attack on kids. It's incomprehensible.

I know it sounds simplistic but the object of terrorism is to cause terror. And what will cause more than an attack on children and young people?

Of course, the idea is one thing but to actually go out there and do it.... I just can't process that. Children. It's just unthinkable.

It's horrific. I really feel worried about reading the news when I wake up that the number of deaths has gone up. I really hope I'm wrong.

The scary thing is there is just no end in sight to this kind of incident.

Is it any wonder anxiety is on the rise? Just unimaginable to think children are targets for these deluded, sub-human cretins.

Sad to say but only a matter of time until something like this happens at or after a sporting event. Especially when there are 50,000 crowds spilling out after a game.

Absolutely correct. It's a horrendous situation which has no end game or conclusion, only an increasing list of targets such as sporting events and concerts in addition to modes of transport etc. Not only that but an ever growing list of cities targeted.

And in the aftermath of each awful, unimaginable atrocity we hear the same sentiments but only the victims of the carnage have their lives changed. The rest of us, understandably, quickly move on with our lives until the next time where the whole horror of the incident is all over our tv screens and social media again.

The worlds most powerful nations have to work together, use all available resources and intelligence and do whatever is necessary to obliterate these cells, wherever they are based. Route these *******s out whatever it takes, whatever it costs. Without total cooperation and a determination to destroy these evil hate filled arseholes then we all know it's just a matter of time that we are watching the next incident. Be it in London, Paris, New York, Manchester, Boston or some other major city, everywhere is under threat.

Just been listening to a hugely interesting debate. Apparently British intelligence believe over 400 men have left our shores in the last year to travel to Syria and Iraq to receive training and further indoctrination / radicalization. It is imperative that they should not be allowed to return to the UK or indeed mainland Europe. We need a zero tolerance approach to these individuals. If they decide to travel to these countries that is their prerogative but once they go there then there is no return. They should not gain access through British border control and should immediately sent back to their adopted country. A stance has to be taken.

Unfortunately it already has happened - back in 2015 at Stade de France or in 2013 at the Boston Marathon.

Other examples are when a wacko attacked the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 (too "socialist" an organisation apparently) and ETA car-bombed the Bernabeu Stadium in 2002 (well close to the stadium)

Just seen the news and its truly awful for all involved. I have friends who have accompanied their young daughters to see this singer and imagine that would be the main demographic of the crowd there.

Huge concerts, football matches, and large gatherings like Edinburgh Hogmanay are the softest targets where these scumbags are going to kill the largest number of people in one area.

I would imagine this place last night would be like the concourses at football grounds ar full time. It would be easy to take out a large number of people slowed down by the bottlenecks around the exits.

My thoughts go out to all those attending that concert last night.

Doesn't the UK have laws in place already?

In Australia we have the "Declared Area Offence"

The offence of entering, or remaining in, a declared area is located at section 119.2 of the Criminal Code Act 1995. The provision makes it an offence for a person to intentionally enter, or remain in, a declared area in a foreign country where the person knows, or should know, that the area is a declared area. The maximum penalty for this offence is 10 years? imprisonment.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs may declare an area in a foreign country if they are satisfied that a listed terrorist organisation is engaging in a hostile activity in that area.
The government is concerned about Australians who travel to conflict zones and return to Australia with skills and intentions acquired from fighting or training with terrorist groups. The areas targeted by the ?declared area? provisions are extremely dangerous locations in which listed terrorist organisations are engaging in hostile activities.

At the moment, Mosul district, Ninewa province in Iraq and Al-Raqqa province in Syria are the only two Declared Areas though.

Horrific. Those poor people. I'd looked at tickets for last night for my daughters birthday but decided to go for the London gig on Thursday instead.

Can't begin to imagine how it must have been for those there and their families. In amongst all the horror, heartwarming to read all the stories of people of all faiths and backgrounds coming together to help others.

No defending many religions these days however I dont think this is about religion. They make out like it is for Allah but the majority of these animals are drug abusing, porn addicted cretins. It's more of a cult these days

The last suicide bomber in UK was as devout as you get - Sidique Khan. Community leader and family man. Also, the reason low level crims see it as the greatest honour is cos of the Islamic concept of martyrdom. There is a Hadith where Mohammed says to die and come back and get chance to die and come back is the ultimate honour.

I see know way how moderates (ie cherry pickers) can ever square this circle.

That was back in 2007 and was an Al Qaeda attack. Isis is a whole different kettle of fish and even Al Qaeda have said theyre not right. If you look up the Paris attacks, the majority were on heroin

Coward.

Children among the dead. Brutal. Very sad.

Frustrating thing is most of these indiots are already 'known to the police'. Their communities must know something!

I can see theres a lot of angry people and quite rightly so.

Sad thing is they think this will change society somehow but it just doesnt. Life carries on. Apart from the families directly affected, normality for most returns after a few days.

I understand the purpose of terorismis to cause fear. However, targeting kids, that takes an extra level of evil.

I know these have become more common in the last number of years. However, I'm a taken aback by this due to what appears the targeting of kids/young adults.

Unfortunately, I see these things continuing and I do fear that something like this may happen in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

And Isis fighters use amphetamine on battlefield. Its not the motivation though.

This is heartbreaking.

Charlotte Campbell?s 15-year-old daughter, Olivia, is still missing after the concert. She spoke to BBC Radio 4?s Today programme, where she began by saying when she last talked to her daughter:

She was at the concert. She?d just seen the support act and said she was having an amazing time, and thanking me for letting her go. She was with her friend, Adam. Adam was found about half an hour ago ? he?s in hospital ? but Olivia?s not been found yet.

I?m at home phoning everybody: hospitals, police, the centres that the children have been put in. Her dad?s in Manchester looking for her. I?ve got friends looking for her. I?ve got people I don?t even know looking for her, people messaging me, saying we?ve got her photo, looking for her, we?ll get in contact if we see her. And I?m just hearing nothing. Her phone?s dead.

Social media has been wonderful. I don?t know what I?ve have done without them, it?s made it so aware that she?s missing. There?s thousands of people who now know she?s missing, there?s people out looking for her I don?t know, and I can?t thank these people enough, giving their time up.

They?ve basically told me to stay put and wait for a phone call. I daren?t leave the house just in case she somehow gets home.

I can't even begin to imagine what this poor woman is going through, not knowing if her daughter is alive or dead.
