DOUBT: Andy Driver's injury could see him miss out this weekend

By BARRY ANDERSON

ANDY DRIVER has emerged as an injury doubt for Hearts' visit to Aberdeen this weekend after a groin problem precluded him from last night's defeat by Motherwell.:banghead2:

Ross McCormack's first-half penalty, given for handball against Eggert Jonsson, ultimately eliminated Stephen Frail's side from the Scottish Cup on a night when Driver's guile in wide areas was sadly missed.

The winger missed training on Monday and club medical staff are now concerned over his availability for Saturday's journey to Pittodrie.

"Driver's got a groin strain. He didn't train on Monday and was touch and go for Motherwell but the physios deemed him not fit enough to play," said Frail. Deividas Cesnauskis and Saulius Mikoliunas occupied the wings for Hearts last night but failed to make any attacking incisions on Motherwell's defence.

Frail was left despondent at exiting the Scottish Cup but returned his focus to Hearts' SPL campaign.

"The cup is massive and you want to win everything you are in. We are just

disappointed we are out of it now," he said.

"We've got a massive game on Saturday against Aberdeen and we must keep up this reasonable form with the two draws and the win against Hibs (in the league]. We need to try and get up the league."

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson attended last night's match to assess both Andrius Velicka and McCormack. Johnson has joined Gary Megson, the Bolton Wanderers manager, as an admirer of Velicka but the Lithuanian often found himself starved of service at Fir Park.

He struck woodwork in the second half from just six yards but Hearts will be keen to retain the services of their top goalscorer unless a club submits a bid beyond their valuation of the player.

Striker Calum Elliot and defender Marius Zaliukas are again suspended for Saturday's match:) but will be available to face Rangers in the CIS Insurance Cup semi-final in seven days time.

feck,thats all we need eh.
