Thought the acting was unbelievably mediocre and the plot seemed very forced. The Missing got me a lot more interested. Will carry on giving it a crack though. The second episode was very contrived, and for me not that realistic, with some scenarios that are unlikely to occur in the manner portrayed. I think I have worked out where it is going, but you never can tell. Some great performances, even if Adrian Dunbar goes over the top sometimes. Craig Gordons Gloves Posted April 17, 2017 Share Posted April 17, 2017 (edited) I'm watching it on iPlayer having watched the 1st 3 series in a 2 week period about 3 months ago. Series 1 was easily the best one, this one, while it's good is also a little more contrived and while Thandi Newton is a very attractive lady, it's balanced out by how annoying Kate is in this series. The most amazing thing in it is that Jamie from The Thick of It hasn't sworn once and also every time Martin Compston speaks i get a small surprise that he isn't speaking like he did in Sweet Sixteen or The Wee Man.
