maroonlegions
Just one of those dodgy PPE contracts for companies run by TORY friends , some of which are mysteriously valued at £108 million , regardless of the task, and some of which have failed to deliver ANY useful PPE/ equipment , could feed every child in need throughout the winter holidays. If one could add up the amount of money this farce of a government has wasted, squandered and handed out to their city mates since COVID took hold then it would be a serious amount of money. 300 of those reptiles who voted against free school meals to kids in need over the winter holidays have been named. maroonlegions
Let this sink in the next time you vote. Tory MPs said they "did not believe in nationalising children" ahead of the vote, with one saying children have been going hungry "for years". Fecking utter contempt and utter reptiles. This has been the year were they have shown not only their true colours but were their real priorities lie. It's all about them and their mega rich city mates , no doubt about it. Scottish independence will come about due to this governments draconian policies in England. maroonlegions
For those that think class does not matter in politics here are a few reminders that it does. Let's refer back to that vote on free school meals for kids. This billionaire funded party that is led by an Oxford Bullingdon boy, former banker Chancellor and & Cabinet overwhelmingly privately educated , voted to deny working class kids in brutal poverty food in the holidays. It's about class.
maroonlegions
Good on the Liverpool council who have decided to stand up for those poor kids and for sticking the finger up to this shower of utter reptiles. Liverpool City Council will step in to feed the city's poorest children after the government refused to help. The city battling through the Tier 3 coronavirus lockdown has announced it will support struggling families after the Tories refused. The council announced today it will provide free school meal vouchers for the poorest city kids, backing Marcus Rashford's campaign. Mayor Joe Anderson announced this morning that his local authority will help out despite being cash-strapped itself, reports the Liverpool Echo. The vital vouchers will go to the families in the city who will struggle to provide meals for their children over next week's half-term holiday. The fightback starts here. One 22 year old footballer (who relied on free school meals as a kid) with more heart and dedication to others than the entire Conservative party, and its voters. It’s wonderful to behold. Check out his Twitter feed - individuals, small businesses, councils, people from all around the country are stepping in where the government refuses to. England and Wales Covid lockdown for children in custody 'cruel and inhumane' "The UK government’s policy of allowing children in detention in England and Wales to be locked alone in their cells for up to 23 hours a day under emergency Covid-19 measures is “extreme and inhumane” and could lead to lifelong mental health damage, according to the UN special rapporteur on torture and leading child health experts. Since March, facilities have been able to keep children as young as 12 confined alone in their cells for all but around 40 minutes a day." -
