If you want to hear a herculean effort of Tory dodge, deflect and whataboutery, then listen to Guto Harri's interview on LBC this morning.Β

Β

He'd put some of the unionist slavers on here to shame.Β

The Met dragged kicking and screaming to do their job. Everyone ducking for cover and hiding now. Scapegoats being prepped for sacrifice on the alter of lies.Β

A surprise development. I thought it would be paused.

Β

I don't think it's quite what it seems - I doubt they're linked.

Gray of The Yard is apparently speakingΒ  to the MetΒ  guys who police No 10 to see if there's been a breach of the law so that she can then pass the information back to the Met so the Met can inevestigate (and no doubt interview)Β  the Met police under caution.

Β

I think the pause might be linked to Johnson's latest work event that coincided with his birthday.Β

Β

Maybe the report could be relased as a trilogy.Β

The met were only going to investigate if she found evidence of criminality.

Deleting messages? I was thinking about this, all it takes is one person in a group chat to keep their integrity and not delete everything for everyone to be busted.

Not quite .... just bullshitted

Approached for comment about the allegations, Number 10 responded saying, β€œA group of staff working in No 10 that day gathered briefly in the Cabinet Room after a meeting to wish the Prime Minister aΒ happy birthday. He was there for less than ten minutes.”

.... he only took 10 minutes this time to realise it wasn't a work event πŸ˜‚

I bet the big lump blew his candles out as well.

Will they be investigating why their officers allowed the parties to go ahead.Β

As the queues continue to mount at Dover since the 1st of Jan checks , HMRC has had to admit their IT systems are a total shit show after being inundated with complaints from hauliers (who were themselves being blamed for the delays in processing paperwork) and will be shut down for the entire weekend. Any hauliers who haven't done their paperwork prior to shurdown will not be able to export anything in this window.Β

Β

The delays are that bad (40+ hours at Ashford - where hauliers are sentΒ  to sort the HMRC mess out) , 8+ hours at Calais, 16Km queues at Dover, that ferry staff are having to do the HMRC checks just to keep lorries moving.

Β

The summer tourist traffic should be a real delight.

God bless the brexit dividend.Β

Here's how its going to go;

Β

Spaffer knows what's in the report and has been advised to gamble on kicking the really dubious stuff onto the MPS for a half arsed 'investigation' by Cressida who will not jeopardise her retirement seat in the Lords, so you can expect a few junior civil servants to get a Β£100 fine and move along.

The Sue Gray stuff which will be released will be so watered down as to be inconsequential and the Tory party will rally behind Spaffer with a united no wrongdoing/nothing to see here message.Β

I don’t think the voters will buy a Gray Wash. To many people gave up so much and they will remember when it comes to ticking a box.Β

Not sure it should be published.Β  There's now a police inquiry going on so surely it would impinge on that.Β  The police have to conduct their inquiry from scratch as the information gathered by Sue Gray is not valid for police investigation purposes.

Β

This is all orchestrated in any case.Β  He was happy to rely on the Sue Gray findings whilst he thought that would draw a line under things.Β  Since then it seems that the findings might be troublesome for him.Β  Imo the police investigation has been contrived in order to invalidate the importance of the Sue Gray report.Β  It will now be shifted on to the police investigation being the be-all-and-end-all.Β Β

In reality, I think the report could be a tad more embarrassing for BoJo.

Β

It seems that SG's report will make no judgements, but will simply list all the events she investigated, identifying who or how many attended. She will discount all those that she considers to be work events, but decide that a number of events require further investigation by the police to determine if they broke any laws and who should face sanctions.

There are council elections in May and if the Tories get a kicking then and if Spaffer is still in post he will be gone.Β

The emphasis has moved to criminality considerations. Yeah, we partied on while folks looked at dying relatives through glass but it's unlikely to be criminal.

Β

Its like Rangers and their side letters. But on the bright side, unlikelyΒ  it falls into match fixing.Β

Yes I agree, if somehow BoJo survives to the May council elections and the Tories get a kicking, then the Tories will want someone else in charge long long before the next GE, so as to allow them the chance to distance themselves from the BoJo era and to put their own mark on policies, 2+ years would give plenty of time for someone else to have the chance to turn things around.
