maroonlegions
Dear Theresa May, When people wrote to you describing the impact of austerity upon disabled people, upon carers, upon homeless, upon Waspi women, upon victims of Universal Credit, you ignored us all. Whilst I am right wing, of that there is no doubt- I do not identify with the current Tory party, nor agree with what they are doing, nor their social policies, or direction. The utter ruination of "conservative values " has made them unsupportable. The fact a belief in hard work, supporting yourself, paying your way AND your dues, a living wage and incorporating many values of the Trades Unions, support for families and a decent life through your own endeavours coupled with support for those who cannot support themselves should have no political home anymore is pretty damning. Nookie Bear
Been a while since I read anything about it but was Thatcher not involved in secret negotiations with the IRA to try and break the cycle of violence (but knowing that she needed to appear unrelentingly immovable to the public)? When you are in power you need to consider any alternative, even talking to a group that tried to murder you. Corbyn’s dealing with the IRA were a lot more amenable, of course. ?
