Thatcher destroyed Britain and we're still feeling the effects of her British/English nationalism!

The commonality we had with the 4 nations disappeared when she drove through her scorched earth policies. We've had Blair and now that lying scumbag Johnson because of her.

The UK was in a fantastic state when Thatcher came to power, right enough.

This applies more to America but it's the same principle. The police are there do gather evidence to convict you. That's their job. You are not legally obliged to help them to that.

Yes its a great guiding principle of the law. Say nowt.

Exactly.

A infantile reaction from her.

Asked a simple 'yes/no' question, she ignores it completely and launches into a vitriolic personal attack.

And she's supposed to be a top lawyer?

And it was SCOTLANDS OIL that saved Britain. Peter Hitchins gobbing off the other day like England relies on none of the Celtic satellite nations for anything. Is that right aye?? What money built the financial district in London? The M25? Channel Tunnel? London sewage system and Thatcher wouldn’t have been able to save her own arse by starting a war either.
Still to this day it’s bailing out the entire UK.
But it’s aw running oot…

That one wasn't oil money. It was privately financed. That was the only reason it got built from the UKs standpoint. Thatcher refused to commit public money to it

The only possible locations for the nuclear fleet are in Scotland.

The UK has 7700 miles of coastline (ignoring the coastline paradox), there are nooks and crannies all the way down the West coast, not to mention NI and God knows how many islands.

Ok fair enough. My point being Peter Hitchens being a nonce ***** with no grasp of what Scotlands incredible wealth done for the south of England stands though😊

She fractured the fabric of what I thought was GB. I looked at independence because of her philosophy as she didn't care enough for anything or anyone other than her own dogma.

Location location location

But its true they could spend £200 billion needed to create a safe and secure port from scratch. If they can get a local population to agree it.

Might even do it before Aberdeen's new stadium.

That's a different conversation though, I wouldn't agree that the only possible locations for a nuclear fleet are in Scotland.

You always think they won't get more corrupt and anti Democratic and steer us towards fascism but then that's how they want you to think.

So Boris has now changed the ministerial code so that you don’t need to resign if you lie or mislead Parliament.

Do people actually realise how f****** dangerous that is?

From the US, I'd say if you don't punish senior leaders for serial lying while in office, you wait a few years and you get a con man in the job.

Obama let the Bush admin skate on all their lies about Iraq and torture. Then we got Trump.

Maybe it started here with Blair not getting huckled over Iraq either. The implied acceptance of declining standards in public life leading ultimately to Boris's Broken Brexit Britain.

To be fair, the tory party have managed to get the working class on their side down there because of their strong right wing, anti-immigration, “England for the English!” stance.

I mean, Brexit was pretty much voted for because the English electorate didn’t want to see a family of immigrants move in down the road.

I’m not naive enough to suggest it’s that simplistic though, and there’s obviously other factors too, but you’re burying your head in the sand if you believe racism isn’t a strong element in the working class English electorate that vote torys psyche.

The torys had to find an angle to win over the working class, and I suspect pitting them against immigrants and asylum seekers is the choice they went with.

It’s easy for them to say “Look! That family of immigrants are coming to take money out of the system!” whilst they shovel off billions of tax payers money to their tory donor pals, and unfortunately, people swallow that up hook line and sinker.
