Wtf are you talking about. The words in red, I presume are Nano's. Certainly nothing even remotely like anything I have ever said.  I don't use memes and I have never, ever made contact with the Mods, while on this Board.

I guess NO is the answer to your question.

But I am getting severely pissed off with the nit-picking, self-indulgent,  group think pile ons on this thread.

I post what I think. If you don't like it, or agree with it, tough.

The incessant, forensic examination of posts, questioning motives, why, how, where, is utterly pathetic, self-entitled nonsense.

I will continue to post my views and challenge other opinions I disagree with. I won't however be engaging in any debates that attempt to seek or invent hidden motives or methods.

Still making a shop's front of the Windrush shitfest then.  No lessons learned.  People still being treated like animals.

That is truly shocking.

Another thing they were going to sort out.

Respectful posters are treated respectfully while the other mob get it back in spades!

I'll echo this. Going by Enzo's posts, we disagree fundamentally on many political views but we do so respectfully in our conversations. It doesn't need to be a bunfight !

Anyway, back to the lies and U turns..!

HMRC is opening a new office in Newcastle.

"Great, this is part of levelling up the north", I hear you cry.

The office they're renting belongs to "Reuben Brothers (Newcastle) Limited", which when you look on Company's House, has a single shareholder, Taras Properties Ltd, registered in the British Virgin Islands.

The Reuben Brothers themselves are Tory party donors and part of the consortium that bought Newcastle football club.

So, HMRC, which is supposed to be trying to close offshore tax loopholes, is in fact using them to rent its own offices

Probably got a cracking deal on the initial lease, which obviously supersedes who actually owns the building.

Nick Fletcher, MP for the Don Valley, reckons that crime rates are up because diverse casting is reducing the amount of positive male characters on popular media, leaving young men with only bullies and gangsters as inspiration.

:gok:

He's actually serious. He's been bleating about this single subject for YEARS.

The location will remain in operation for some time because there are a number of different govt  agencies there - DWP was actually the biggest teneant when I worked there and HMRC (at that time) had their people in the city centre so I'm a bit confused by this.

The moves won't even start until 2024.

In a development that will come as a surprise to nobody, Boris' plans for a bridge linking Scotland and Northern Ireland have been rejected.

Not only is the project almost totally unfeasible from an engineering standpoint, even if could be done it would cost 335 billion quid.

The alternative of a tunnel is also almost impossible and would cost 209 billion even if the engineering could be done.

We already have aeroplanes and ferries.

The whole thing was some bonkers attempt to physically link everything together, as if that would stop both Scottish Independence and Irish reunification issues at one stroke.

Was at the pub today for a retirement farewell. Topic of conversation moved to Spaffer Clownshoes. A number of so-called ‘intelligent’ colleagues jumped to his defence with the usual guff about, “that’s just Boris” and “I really like him” and “there’s nobody else competent”. Sweet Jesus.

After all that’s happened I was fully expecting some of the blue-rinse brigade to be wavering in their support for the gravy-stained omnishambles, but seemingly not.

I, for one, am stunned that a massively expensive, possibly impossible feat of engineering with zero economic case to back it up isn't going ahead.

The Randox connection to Tories/Owen Patterson & his missus  should be cause for concern.

Even the unredacted bits should have raised red flags.

Randox didn't have the equipment required to fulfil the contract, nor the wherewithal to get it. They relied on the government to source equipment from universities.

I'm sure the universities could have carried out the testing themselves given half a chance.

Owen Paterson’s wife, I believe, was the chairperson of Aintree Racecourse, which hosts the Grand National which is now sponsored by Randox. Randox was given a huge contract by the goverment for Covid testing, which has been alleged, was influenced by Jockey Club representation. Dido Harding is also connected within the Jockey Club.
There is a definite stink of corruption in this Paterson affair. It is a real shame that Paterson’s wife took her own life. Terrible for her family. Instead of trying to use that tragedy to garner sympathy for himself, to get him off being found breaking rules and suspended, maybe Paterson and his chums should have asked themselves how they may have contributed to the poor woman’s death.

I wonder if Johnson and Rees Mogg were afraid that Paterson might reveal some information about the Covid contracts that they would rather weren’t in the public domain, so had to be seen to support him.

There's a judicial review request going ahead from the Good Law Project following the Met refusal to act following  a request from the SNP into the "peerages for "£3 million" scheme.

I hope it gets past the request stage. It stinks to high heaven.
I have used Randox for PCR test and didn’t have a problem with the service. However the way it was set up is very dodgy to say the least.

Interesting, and not the only time he's used that tactic apparently.

For some reason it seems like he had cause to disrupt search results for anyone Googling Boris & model, and Boris & police.

No danger Johnson thought this wheeze up by himself, but at that time he may have had a Svengali like data specialist on his team who would cook this up for him (eyesight permitting).

What better way to deflect Google searches away from Tory snouts in the trough of taxpayer funds than to introduce Peppa Pig references into a keynote speech?

And some people think he's stupid.

Boris Johnson is many things, stupid isn't one of them, everything 'stupid' he does and says is for a reason.
