Connections and interests all over the place. They even found connections to The Jockey Club, for goodness sake, and implied that Cheltenham went ahead because of those influences and Randox, the firm who are heavily involved in testing, sponsor the Grand National. Even if there was no corruption involved in awarding these contracts, the amount of money thrown about on failed policies on Covid 19 is a national scandal. Probably a "world beating" scandal. Pans Jambo
So the "green" revolution has started with the tories bringing forward an end of new petrol/diesel cars to 2030. I welcome that. How are folk living 4 flights up in a flat going to charge their car? If I look at a tight street (locally to me theres Cockenzie high St for example), theres dozens of cars all tightly packed in on both sides of the street. This is replicated all over towns and cities. How are they all going to charge their cars? Would rather they spent £16Bn of the Defence budget over 4 years on fitting out charging points everywhere to cope with the shift in car ownership that's going to swing heavily towards hybrid, then full electric over the next 10 years or so. What the extra defence money for? Who will get it? French frigates or American nuclear bombs???

That and being utterly despondent with the labour party who were being led by that numbskull Corbyn at the time, pretty much left folk with no choice, down in England anyway. Obviously a lot of Scots voted SNP but again, I think some did more to fill the benches up at Westminster with Scots rather than believing they are any better. One things for sure, the past 8 months have shown us that the Tory's are the same as they have always been...look after them and their 'elite' pals whilst the rest of us scrap about hoping to do alright. Pans Jambo
The military should be halved again IMO. Why do we need a large military machine? NOBODY invades anyone anymore (unless its the USA or the UK, we love a wee invasion now and then)! A really good home defence force is all this wee island needs. The empire is dead and we no longer need empirical levels of armed forces. Time we butted out of other folks business abroad! Times have changed. Cade
Folk are leaking the Priti Patel bullying report after Boris has been sitting on it for 6 months. Clear and obvious breaches of the Ministerial Code and a "cover-up" by Boris. Well, not really a cover-up as the law says that the report doesn't have to be published at all and that the PM has final arbitration on action to be taken. So Boris is within his rights to supress it and do nothing about it. But the law is stupid as feck on this one and I'm glad it's been leaked.
