The civil servants' union have reviewed his material and decided to back his legal complaint.

If Patel goes down, perhaps the new immigration system the Tories implement won't be quite so outrageous. The Scottish Government and SNP are clearly trying to hammer this issue as well because of Scotland's needs, so this presents an opportunity. Fingers crossed.

Tories lie. Its their M.O.

When did more than half of Scotland vote for the SNP?

OK maybe not more than half but  the SNP AGAIN had a massive share of the vote up here.

Here is just one of the reasons.

This  Tory government is fueling the fire of independence, no doubt about it.

What a plie of shite. You ever looked at the misery it inflicted on 1000s of course you have not . Thatcher's Poll Tax was a genocide experiment , how did that work out..

It's not even just at a national level.

The scenes at Aberdeen Council today were a bit tasty as conservative councillor and convicted sex offender rocked up at city chambers and voted with the labour/tory minority.

He refuses to resign.

Agree but expected from those type of papers but for the BBC and others not to hold the tory governments feet to the fire is disgraceful. The lockdown will be announced, ok but what is the longer term plan. No hard questions will be asked.

Why tf are big companies being given out taxpayers money, when they are paying out dividend payments to shareholders and are not registered for tax on these shores? Yet small businesses are being turned away or cannot afford to take on more debt.

These feckers never change. Always amazes me how they are quite socialist when using our tax for their filthy rich pals.

The tories are guilty of killing people. If you vote for them youre lower than a snakes belly and subhuman IMO.

And I am old enough to remember the devastation that witch caused to the communities that relied on the mines.

The mines were hemorrhaging money.

The witch let a lot of people get on the property ladder by letting them buy their council houses for peanuts.

Loads of people I know benefited

I tend to disagree. A lot of the younger generation are better off because their parents were able to leave them something when they passed away.

The workers paid for it & so did the communities.
The council house thing is showing its true colours now. £350k for a 2 bedroom apartment and half your monthly salary to rent somewhere semi decent. Greedy landlords. No social housing stock and young folk struggling to get accommodation or get on the housing ladder. Its a shit show. Thanks Maggie!

The theory of making homes affordable to people who might not necessarily be able to own one otherwise was great in principle. Loads of hard working folk managed to own the property that they had paid rent on for years and that wasnt a bad thing. Where it fell down was allowing folk to buy numerous council homes by fronting up the cash for the tennant to buy (quite often elderly tennants) and hanging on until they died then 'inheriting' the property through a legal agreement and selling the property for a massive profit or renting it out for years then selling for an even bigger profit!

I'd say the real problem was failing to replace the lost housing stock, we're seriously short on social housing.

I personally don't think that social housing should be sold into the private sector in the first place, it's not the purpose it's built for. But if we're going to sell them, get building to replace them, and more, the population's growing not shrinking.

Well if ever there was a time for an economic boost it's now

As soon as things are clearer a huge building programme should start with an emphasis on social housing...private house demand will take while to recover after this crisis.

I agree one of the major faults was not replacing what was sold in the past and this is a chance to catch up a little with large benefits whilst being built and after

Hard to disagree with any of that Smithee. Dont sell them in the 1st place, we wouldn't need to replace them.
