The economies of these unions are or have been dictated centrally. Regardless of the ideologies. It has the same impact in each one. The levers used to affect the economy were for the benefit of the already rich at the expense of other regions. The evidence is factual. Even China is a superstate which is the same example. These unions benefit only the already rich and powerful and are consolidation of that. Sorry if im going philosophical but thats why i will always vote to break up these unions. As long as both gain then greeting that the other has gained more is stupid small-mindedness. It is undeniable that Scotland has benefited from being part of the UK . But has that benefit outweighed its contribution. Id argue it hasn't. Id argue that Scotlands contribution has benefited the union substantially more than its people have received. In many areas. Invention Commerce Politically Industry In fact in any area you care to mention. I see the same examples in other union of states. Im not a flag waver deeside but i do see that an independent Scotland could flourish and i dont measure that just in how stockmarkets rate it. You didn't understand again For normal people - the reason Unions work is because they benefit the constituent parts by drawing on the strengths of each. USA being an obvious example. The example of the USA is exactly why the break up of union of states should be ended. It has a wonderful constitution (incidentally one which drew upon the forward thinking of scots). But is a country that on the whole has been the driving force behind much which is wrong in the world.
