Im cock a hoop at living in a SNP controlled cooncil and having the SNP in charge of Scottish Devolution.

When I watch London based news, it’s actually has nothing to do with my life these days. 😎

As long as you hold them to account the same as every other party.

Child poverty rising

Children in homeless accommodation rising.

Especially in the nations capital city.

Wanting independence shouldnt mean blind loyalty.

The two issues I have cited especially the shameful situation regarding housing in the city can be and should be levelled at our government in Holyrood.

It's a disgrace actually.

Time the SNP stopped playing this wee WM game. Let the opposition run it, but block all Tory legislation. Oh! Before I forget. Remember EVEL? You know, English votes for English law. I take SVSL means only Scottish MPs vote for Section 30?.

The more they block it the more Indy soars.

You seem upset that even SNP MSPs admit they have no forseeable date for Indy  Ref 2.

I'm remarkably chilled about it, and warned you before the GE that this was going to happen.

So you are happy with Scottish children born to fail before a balls kicked.

Happy that the capital city has families without a settled house whose kids have to move school because of short term lease.

Happy that the city has housing being built like never before yet the current crisis continues.

All because the party that's running the show is a nationalist one?

Some love for Scotland and its future you have got.

It's the kind of flag waving nationalism that belongs with bonnie prince charlie.

He's an MP. Thus not a member of the governing party. I'd suggest that his sphere of influence would be different from that of an MSP. That's all. I wouldn't like to think someone is deliberately trying to muddy the waters by posting inaccurate information.

One man's perception of pedantry could quite easily be another's desire for accuracy.

Deflection again doesn't make a difference to the point.

It doesn't matter a bit whether Kenny McAskill is still an MSP - he was a senior government minister at Holyrood for the SNP and admits Indy Ref 2 is dead in the water for the forseeable future which is a serious blow to the nutters organising the parades every few months.

Don't bother posting pedantry about MP vs MSP - deflection doesn't avoid the fact that a senior member of the SNP admits the game is up.

Your solution is?

Build more social housing.

Change laws to give tenants longer leases.

Rent controls.

Take control of land space that is kept back for development.

Borrow as they did for infrastructure like the forth crossing.

Grant planning permission to private housebuilders with a greater proportion of social housing.

Have you any idea(you must have given your post) how much money it costs to house families in bed and breakfasts?

I have seen nothing policy wise from the current government .

How long have they held power?

UK nationally is a disgrace before you retort ah but England the tories blah blah blah.

So here I will help.

2014 the tories promised 200 000 social house builds.

Feel free to correct that figure.

Not a single one.

Having a permanent home for a child is something I think money should be found for.

You sound like a fekin tory asking me where the money should come from.

This is my problem with the SNP and some of its supporters.

Will argue against imo the conscience of Scottish voters because some of them are blindly loyal.

Ok, how many affordable housing did the Scottish government provide since coming to power?

I'd expect those who want a more progressive Scotland to be....well a bit more progressive.

Instead we have a death wish for old people.

A willingness to excuse child poverty and homelessness with the age old tory cry of how will we afford it.

Even breaking down votes as which is the purer.

Scots votes

EU nationals

Age

English

English parentage.

Let's change this round

Let's say it's the English National party members.

We only lost because

English voted for us

EU nationals didnt

Irish didnt

Those with Pakistani parents didnt

Etc etc.

Oh and the quicker the old folk who didnt vote for us die the better.

A better indication as I have posted is the rise especially in Edinburgh of children in homeless accommodation.

Can you tell me the numbers in short term private let's?

Can you tell me the average rental costs in Edinburgh?

To buy a house in Edinburgh nowadays you would need somewhere in the region of 100 grand.

Thats what happens when you sell off the social housing stock back in the 80’s and don’t replace it.

Who did that?

That's a target.

For 2021.

How many have been built so far?

What's the breakdown between mid market and social rent equivalent to council rates.

The 33% of this target they say is affordable what prices does that mean.

Because new build affordable flats in the Leith area are in the region of a qtr of a million for a one bedroom flat.

So please tell me how a young family on average wages affords a bigger new build ?

I'm well aware of the tories and their shite record on housing and Labours.

The SNP are and have been in power for 10 years.

Targets are fine .

What proportion of those targets have been met?

2021 to get there.

Genuinely interested and saying as you deal with these things as you say perhaps you can tell me.

Who did that?

Please tell me these places in Edinburgh where you can get such a flat for 100k that would suit a family ?

And in these days of mortgages not being granted so easily do you know the average waiting time for a social rent house ?

Do you know the difficulty even obtaining a privately rented house in the city?

Dont try to stick up for something that's not just the fault of the SNP space.

Its unacceptable and given the examples of European countries regarding social housing is far from unattainable.

My mate picked up something in Colinton Mains for something like that, granted it needed gutted top to bottom.

Interests rates are pretty low and a good mortgage advisor is the best person to ask for that.

Please note the article was an extract from an interview in 2019. The First Minister, who has called for indyref2to be held in the second half of next year in the wake of the UK's departure from the EU, said her government would "work to ensure" it took place.
