All roads lead to Gorgie

I just wonder if the lockdown unrest in the Netherlands will have an impact in how this country sees how a more free society than ours works and says maybe we don't want to copy the Dutch for some time yet.

It would be a shame as I don't think it is the weed community who are to blame for the unrest as most will be getting through the worrying times better thanks to the plant.

I stopped for the best part of a decade but after a trip to the dam 2 years ago realised just how great this wee plant is. Actually gave up booze completely as I’ve always much preferred a smoke. I also think it’ll be legal in the UK within a decade, at the very least medicinally available.

I also gave up on alcohol about 4 years ago due to getting bored with it and preferring a smoke.  Miss that music blast you get with that combo but life is a lot better.   No bother with bevy, just gets boring.

NZ's referendum result surprised me. Wonder if we'd get a similar result here.

But there's plenty money for the government to make from taxing it, as well as making it safer by regulating. Seems a no brainer really when the coffers are a little empty from a pandemic.

Maybe the UK Gov are scared the free usage would increase socialist beliefs :whistling:

Not making any indy point here, just the stupid banning of weed.

The snp at there last conference passed a motion to decriminalise weed.  Our own law system and strangely one of the ones not devolved.

Doesn't make sense not having that option, though the snp might've been playing it cute knowing that if passed, this is the issue.

What has the test of tbe uk got to lose if we went for it but still part of the uk?

If it works and they see it's merits, they can look at following suit.  Doesn't, not smoke up their nose.

Not about party or nationalist politics, just one of those decisions that makes no sense.

We legalized cannabis here in Canada a couple of years ago, the cops had stopped busting people for simple possession in most places years prior to that, now government licenced dispensaries have replaced the grey area ones, the price has dropped and quality has increased, you can buy a good strain of 20% THC for around $4 Canadian per gram! There was some debate before it became legal, mostly old dinosaur conservative senators opposing it, now it is just accepted and really not a big deal, it's win win, we save on court costs and enforcement and tax dollars come in from a safe regulated product!

Just spent the time reading the thread from start to finish. Some seriously judgemental arseholes who have no idea what they're talking about. Most of them will be 40+, white collar job, I'm better than the rest types.

I'm not going to read through everything at this time but yes there is a serious stigma to overcome, I just read the last few pages and everyone seems quite cool to it and I got a good recipe sent to me as well! It definitely is mostly an older crowd of hypocrites that oppose it, they think nothing of people being perscribed opioids yet think weed is the devil, alcohol is much more dangerous IMHO, I'm older and have much experience with both!

Because weed never existed until this generation? A 40 year old was a 20 year old in 2000. I’m 55 and don’t have many mates that weren’t into a smoke when they were younger and quite a few who still do. I don’t as I just kind of drifted out of it and then realised at one point I hadn’t had a smoke in months. So my wife and I bought a bit, then after a night on it put it in a drawer and forgot about it for months. We’d subconsciously replaced it with a few glasses of wine.

Out of interest, can you just walk in and buy it like in A'dam or do you need proof of residence or some other docs?

I'm 40+ with a white collar job and I'm most definitely better than you.

It can totally stink the street up!  However, I'd rather sit next to someone stinking of grass than someone eating fast food, or drinking starbucks/costa coffee.  Even strong perfume can be worse.

You get your antibody test?

Ohh and just to keep on topic no weed for you next bit.

Not going to lie, he's my best mate and I'm goig to be in bits on the way to the airport. Antibody test will be performed when we get onboard, so that's in roughly 3 weeks time once quarantine is finished. :muggy:

Put the green away around a month and my alcohol intake has roughly tripled. I just can't shake this hedonistic bent. Hopefully my upcoming enforced abstinance can help towards breaking the habit.

I’m no sure about that. In my experience it tends to be the absolute dregs that stink of the stuff.

I'll be on the 6pm-6am graveyard shift, busting an absolute gut, and stressed out AF. We're the advisory link between the client and the contractor so it's our job to get it in the neck from all directions and be hated by everybody. :jj:

On the plus side the most pleasant time of the day down that way is the first few hours after the sun comes up, just as I'm knocking off shift, and there's a no' bad wee gym onboard.

You may be asked for ID if you look young, it's 19+ there are brick and mortar dispensaries as well as an online one that delivers to your home in about 24 hours, residency is not important in fact Canna Tourism was a thing in border cities before covid, thanks for your interest!

Cigarette smell bothers me as well as the things you listed, many people here vape and there is far less smell due to the lower temperatures, less plant matter is incinerated!

Don’t know probably a month,  depends how this COVID shite goes.

I have been for a little bit for a variety of reasons. No longer get the same mind buzz it’s just pretty much a body relaxation and habit, so time to give a break and a we bit of recharge.

Less is more with weed in many ways. .

The last month or so I've been smoking every night. Probably the longest run I've had in about a decade or something. Tolerance has definitely gone way up, especially in the last week or so I've noticed it.

I'll probably have a job interview in 2/3 weeks, so prepping and getting sorted for that will be a good chance to have a break for a week or 2.

That is why I only buy a bit at the start of each month. I usually then have a couple weeks off it each month.

If I could trust myself to only toke at weekends, I would always have some in.

It's lockdown for me tbh. If I was going into the office every day, which I may be soon, then there's no way I could keep up the daily indulgence. Will enjoy it while it lasts.

Dabbled a bit when I was younger, but not really for me. Grew up with almost everyone in my family smoking it though so not against it at all.

Like alcohol, I've seen it do good and bad to people. I've had mates who've totally become reclusive and are only interested in spending their wages on weed and sitting in the house all the time smoking. That side of it is disturbing. Then again, I've seen many who just like a wee joint at night, or at work to relax, and you wouldn't really notice any difference in them.

I really can't be arsed though with people who advertise it and brag about it though, as if they are cool and edgy because they smoke weed. Seen people on Facebook who always have to somehow feature a bong or a joint in their picture, even if it's got nothing to do with weed. And as others mentioned in this thread, I dislike people who walk about absolutely reeking of the stuff 24/7. The same applies to regular smokers though on that one though.

Салатные палочки

Got given a wee bit of solid off a workmate last week. Enough for a few joints. Not got round to doing anything with it yet as I haven't got any fags or skins . Don't know how people can smoke tobacco these days at those prices.

Considered a can pipe the other night when I had a few drinks but that's schemie as **** :laugh2:
