I'd like part of Rob Hawthorne's commentary from the 98 final after we went 2 up.

"And Hearts now, send their supporters into raptures..."

Or "Skacel - Ominous"

I also like "Darren Barr seizes the moment, seizes the cup final"

On the wall directly outside "away" dressing room......

H1b5 1  Heart of Midlothian 5 - Scottish Cup Final 19th May, 2012

"Never Let Them Forget"

PS. I would not give them the pleasure of their full name:thumbsup:

Just realised that is wrong.  Alfie's playing days were long gone by 1963.  The actual time was around 7 years earlier when I broke the same wrist after falling off my guider.

Bet there's a few on here who don't know what a guider is.  They were great.

You had a guider? You jammy devil , I pestered my dad to make me one but he never got round to it!

We just robbed the wheels of my sisters pram, some stolen planks a bit of rope (long before the aviation industry even thought about fly by wire) some nails and bobs your mums live in lover. Happy days flying down pennywell Road completely out of control.

All this talk of painting Hearts murals is great.

Now if only we could think of any Hearts related artwork out there that it it could be based on...

🤔

(Might have been mentioned elsewhere)

this MUST be painted somewhere surely:

"And Tom Purdie, if it was he who chose it, had a strooke of genius when he selected 'Heart of Midlothian' as the name of a sport club. It out-dazzles New York Yankees, Boston Braves and even Queen of the South

Does anyone know how much it would cost to have somethin like this done professionally, in yer house?

I'm putting together my man cave and would love the attached badge painted on one of my walls, probably about 2 feet in diameter. I’ve tweeted Thomas Paints to ask for a price but he’s not got back to me.

Im guessing it’ll probably be a couple of hundred quid...am at there or thereabouts?

Am I right in thinking that the fabulous new changing rooms are up and running now and that's where the teams will emerge from tomorrow?

🤣🤣 We’re gettin a fair amount of work done to the house and she’s had the final day on the lot...apart from the man cave. It’s all good...although the thought of a divorce does actually sound quite good sometimes 🥴

Looks great. Petty but there is more exciting ceiling tile options than corporate office white :D A dark grey with spaceship like lighting and spot lights onto the brick wall with the Hearts artwork would be my choice.

Oh, and painting the gable ends maroon :D

Far far better than bare concrete walls..

Place looks unbelievably better. I’d have ditched the false ceilings though.

Yep. Looks far better than the shite white tegged in ceiling tiles imo... in fact... they are t even tegged in, just resting on the frame. Not a fan.

Pardon me for asking but surely it is IYHO "almost" unbelievably better if it was not for the ceiling?

IMHO the walls look great but the ceilings make it slightly claustrophobic

Looks miles better. Many moons ago I used to work for a joiner and then a ventilation system fitter. I fitted ceiling tiles in the ERI when they were building it, and then later did some labouring and ‘mate’ work fitting the ventilation shafts and dampers on the same job. That’s exactly what those ceilings look like to me. A hospital roof.

Yeah, meant the sign writing and colour. Not a fan of false ceilings personally. 👍

As you can see I am with you on that one. This where the new stand and the 3 others differ. I don't doubt they could make better use of the space in the old 3 but I just feel hemmed in and wanting to walk while stooping (ducking) all the time in the corridors of the new.

Just a matter of perception

Ah! Never realised that your username was actually your height.

:wow:

Jesting aside, despite not being close to scraping my head on them, I also feel they make the place feel claustrophobic, like a badger sett or something.

I would not go shouting from the roof tops about working on the ventilation system at RIE:whistling:

Most who go to games think the same, but some people are never happy. 😄

False ceilings are needed in a largely concrete structure to hide the services plus give easy access for repairs etc.

1) who cares about hiding the services?

2) Access for repair work is easier without a suspended metal grid with shite-looking plaster tiles hanging from it.

🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s not just hiding the services, the concrete above is insulated so if there was no ceiling  it would come loose .

Oh. Shame then. The cost-effective way is probably best when we are needing to get the job done and not just divert funds away from the first team. Cheers, I’m far from an expert on these thing.

The concrete would come loose if there was no suspended ceiling fitted below it?
