Jeremy Corbyn

Apparently Jeremy Corbyn said that he'll consider condemning Maduro if someone in the media has the guts to ask Theresa May to condemn the head-chopping, child-executing, sexist, homophobic, alleged war-crime commiting, dictatorial funders of ISIS; Saudi Arabia.

We're not holding our breath.

:jjyay:

Ah but May or the numerous Lab/ Con govts prior have never praised the Saudis style of governance of our favorite weapon buyers but always used the safe yet weaselly 'security' partner excuse.

Corbyn is a commie loving creep but of course its never real 'socialism' when it inevitably goes purge shaped.

Check out the video of Owen Jones getting skewered on Sky. Every time Venezuela is mentioned he says 'yes, yes, but this government is selling arms to the Saudis'.

He and others have been properly embarrassed. :pleasing:

Indeed= as yet another model socialist nation disintegrates into death, violence and absolute poverty, the silence from those who advocate this mode of governance are notably silent

equality has always inevitably meant "equally shit"

In much the same vein as "narrowing the attainment gap" in Scottish education has meant erecting barriers for the better off kids getting into uni.......

Very much this. Venezuela socialism has been very effective at creating equality. However, who wants equality when it means everyone has nothing.

Not so long ago it was heralded as another great socialist success. (I'm not sure what the other socialist success are) Then whenit goes peat shaped it's not really socialism!

Socialists are tremendous at attaching themselves to any modicum success. I remember a 'socialist' poster recently holding up Canada as an example of socialist success despite it's very clearly being a capitalist system.

When socialism fails as inevitably does its not really socialism?!?! . It was never implemented correctly or didn't go far enough and if we just stuck with it would have been ok.

Socialism is a lovely theory but takes no account of human behaviour, therefore will never work. A theory usually perpetrated by faux intellectuals imho.

No system is perfect but continuous attempts at socialist ideals have failed and caused horrific suffering.

Americans are watching this (Venezuela) and amongst a whole host of things are seeing a populist helpless because they gave up their guns.

Right at this moment they are pausing for thought and it is just what the deep state doesn't want, especially because of what they are planning for.

Did I hear someone scream Chaves took the guns at an Englishman in America that sent that scumbag packing?

Yes I did.

Picked up a ticket to see an interview with Jeremy Corbyn near the end of the month here in Edinburgh. It's meant to be quite a light hearted affair but not sure if it's an official festival show.

Went to see the In Conversation with Corbyn speech on the Fringe today. For me, it was more interesting on his own back story and life before politics than what I already knew of him and his political views. Any other Kickbackers attend? Have any thoughts?

I think we should get him in as our new manager.

He'll make lots of promises of winning the league, spend all our money, then borrow loads more and put us into liquidation (a la ServCo).

Corbyn and his magic money tree.

Aye, but we've been crying out for a left winger ever since Levein got the gig.

Boom.

I was there. The background stories were good, especially the Jamaica and South American ones.

Came across well.

Came across very well. Became more passionate when audience questions started. Dealt with all of them very well as well I thought. Fudged the last one a tad perhaps.

But agreed, came across as a fairly reserved and "in it for the right reasons" type.

Been to a few things similar to it with Brown, Murphy, Salmond and Margo MacDonald and he was lacking in the blatant ego that the first 3 I've listed had.
