An attack on a bar in the French capital, Paris, has caused several casualties, French media report.

At least one man opened fire with an automatic gun at the Cambodge restaurant in the 11th district.

Liberation newspaper says four people have been killed. It also reports shootings elsewhere. There is no official confirmation.

An explosion is also reported to have targeted a bar near Stade de France, where France were hosting Germany.

A BBC journalist at the scene says he can see 10 people on the road either dead or seriously injured.

He says police have now arrived.

A least two people have been killed and seven others wounded after a shooting at a Paris restaurant, as two explosions were heard elsewhere in the city.

Witnesses said there were bodies lying on the ground outside the restaurant and police had cordoned off the area after the attack in the 10th arrondissement, local media reported.

Eyewitness: Gunshots fired and bodies on the ground

Eyewitness Ben Grant said he was in a bar in Paris with his wife when the gunshots were fired and he had seen six or seven bodies on the ground.

He told the BBC: "I was told people in cars had opened fire on the bar.

"There are lots of dead people. It's pretty horrific to be honest.

"I was at the back of the bar. I couldn't see anything.

"I heard gunshots. People dropped to the ground. We put a table over our heads to protect us.

"We were held up in the bar because there was a pile of bodies in front of us."

French Police out in force almost immediately, at the moment numerous stories of multiple shootings and hostages currently at the gig.

This is going to end in alot more deaths and clearly very planned.

No, it was nearby. All people being kept inside the stadium for the foreseeable, for obvious reasons.

Edit: Now they're evacuating them somehow. 60k on the streets while the city's in lockdown will be some logistical problem.

I did wonder as they also went on to say 1 casualty. I thought surely if inside there'd be much more.

Utter utter madness. The French are able to mobilise very well. Just imagine the same scale of attack here. It could be many times worse.

Exactly. Even if the French put every officer on the streets you can't totally police a city the size of Paris. A dozen armed people in cars or on motorbikes can spread mayhem wherever they fancy and move on instantly.

Scary stuff.

The "coordinated and complex" attacks in Paris appears to be a direct response to the targeted strike on notorious Islamic State militant Mohammed Emwazi - also known as "Jihadi John", an anti-terror source has told ITV News.
