Aye, I watched a thing about the Mayan Pyramids, last night, ****in headcases!!!

How ****ing stupid woukd have to be to believe anything thay predicted?

They believed the a God was born to a mother, who wore a skirt of snakes ffs, who also had 400 odd other sons and 1 daughter, when then God was born the 400 odd other sons killed the mother, but, the God was born really big and fully grow and also fully armed, he killed all the other 400 odd sons and chucked them in the air and they became the stars that we see today.

The then killed the 1 daughter and tore up her body and chucked that up in the air too and gueass what? She became the Moon!!!!

And we're meant to believe that these ****ing bellends predicted the end of the world?????

**** right off!!! It's like a story that never made it into The Marabu Stork Nightmares.

You're correct, no-one knows when the end of the world will be.

However, it's been here for about 5 billion years, so I'm guessing not any time soon.

It certainly will be, to about 40 million Republican voters, if Trump loses.

The Mayan's were so advanced they couldn't save their own civilisation, go figure.

I think part of the problem and mistake all of these modern doom sayers are making is quite a simple one, really.

They are taking calendars or texts in the case of the bible and try and apply modern logic, understanding and thinking to texts which are thousands of years old, they are completely failing to take into account the knowledge and understanding of the world the people who wrote the texts believed in during their lifetime.

There was predictions of the end of the world by diffirent people/religions or ancient peoples in every decade since I can remember and previous to me being born, I'll not be cancelling any fishing trips because of them.

I think I've lived through 81 end of the world predictions in my lifetime now, and that's just the ones which have made it into the MSM.

That being so, it's.

Me = 81

Fruitloafs, nutters and crackpots = 0

In 7.5 billion the earth will be consumed by the sun as it balloons into a red giant. Of course, a whopping great meteorite hit before then could spoil the party.

For them it was indeed the end.

But it's not like they have all just suddenly dropped down dead, this has been going on for the last 2 months at least, but it's only just made the media this week.   https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-53257512

I wouldn't be listening to what the bible says to be fair.

But people do.  Christianity is big business in the US, with successful preachers becoming extremely wealthy. How many tax-free businesses can you think of?

And a good strategy for maintaining revenue streams is to scare the living daylights out of your flock.  And what better selling point can there be than "You're all going to die, but I can save you."

"Give me some money to help me save others" is the subtle message that follows.

Predictions of end times plays into the hands of shearers of sheep.

The South Pole is warming 3 times faster than the rest of the world.

Experts are worried about the rapid change.

Bubonic plague is caused by a bacteria, and can be very successfully treated by antibiotics.  It's no longer the fearsome scourge it was in the 13th and 14th centuries.

Are we dead yet?

With beer gardens being open and a relatively warm and rain-free weekend forecast I thought I might actually have made it to heaven.
