Pans Jambo
http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-31718336?ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbc_breaking&ns_source=twitter&ns_linkname=news_central Interesting stuff. Interesting indeed. Love all this human evolution discoveries. Apart from being reall interesting, it completely pisses off the god squad when they realise the history of man is slightly more than 4000 years. Dr Alice Roberts (hot lady) did a very informative documentary for the BBC called humans: The incredible journey (or something similar) which traced early man from "Lucy" to modern day and how we colonised the globe 40,000 years or so ago. Good stuff.
supa hot fire
Will have a look out for that online. Read some articles last month on the first migration from Africa, the planet must have looked amazing back in its untouched state.
Bindy Badgy
You can see the oldest hominid fossil in the natural history museum in Addis Ababa. The museum is pretty small but its really interesting and it's only 30p to get in.
Alan_R
Obviously it's interesting they found a body part which is so old. Forgive me if I don't work myself into a frenzy over a jawbone and wild speculation about how they may/or may not have looked/behaved

Bob Gristle
I think my biggest wtf moment came when I realised the Sumerians had solar powered batteries thousands of years ago. I recommend the marcahuasi project, a worldwide archaeological collaboration. Some mind blowing stuff
