No I didn't sign up for anything, I just started using it straight away. I cant remember exactly, but if there was a pop up asking for details I would have just closed it. The UK government have pretty much ruled out prosecuting individuals for downloading torrents. Other countries have tough laws, if you do it in Germany without a VPN you get fined hundreds of Euros.
