bobskeldon Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Manager please. Locke as assistant. This would be the sensible decision. There is no point of CL being at the club (at this time) and NOT being manager at a hugely important time for us.

Surely the way JJ acts, he will get a job at Dunfermline where JJ will retire at the end of next season and is to become DoF there so Gary Locke could get a job there.

I hope Gary can realise that this was not really his time and no one is going to judge him as a failure if he steps aside and continues to develop the kids on the trg pitch, his time will come and i hope his pride or ego dont stop him being part of what i think is going to be a real innovotative project over next few yrs

He will be a consultant initially to put a structure in place. It is then up to the football employees whether or not they accept / apply for the new roles. After the review, Levein may take up one of the roles vacated / candidates not up to scratch / new roles introduced. That's how normal business works but then again, this is football.

Sten Guns Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 DoF with Locke is gaffer is a stupid idea. Levein as manager would be the right move. It may however be awkward for Locke to go from managing these boys to suddenly just being a coach. Pride will be hurt, so he may be on his way out. That said, being a massive Hearts man might mean he may well be able to put his pride to the side. Anybody else and I'd imagine there's no way they'd take a step back.
