Anyone seen ‘the Passage’ on Prime? I’ve read the trilogy of books and thought they were fantastic… not heard much about the TV series though.

I watched it, thought it was pretty good and a decent adaptation of the first book, but unfortunately it was cancelled after just the one season.

The Future's Maroon

Certainly not new, just started Better Call Saul (into season two)…love Breaking Bad but just never fancied this at all….so far really glad we gave in and gave it a shot, really enjoying it.

A very slow burner but tremendous acting. Great backstory showing how Saul started out full of great hopes and idea. I love it.

I thought it was beter than Breaking Bad.

Trailer for the Reacher TV series on Amazon early next year. Not sure how good it will be, but at least they've got the essential size of Reacher right, unlike the ridiculous Tom Cruise in the films.

Hawkeye on Disney+. This one has flown under the radar but is pretty good. If you’re a Marvel geek it gets very interesting from episode 4 on with some links to other stuff. Both MCU and MTU at the same time.

And for some reason seems to go full comedy in episode 6??

Just got episode 6 to watch. The dynamic between the two leads I think works well

Time on BBC iPlayer

Your late to the party with this one Rudi.

Without doubt imo the best TV drama of the year.

Stephen Graham and Sean Bean cast in a prison drama.

A MUST watch drama.

I found it a difficult watch. Well acted, directed, written, etc. but you were in a constant state of doom watching it waiting something horrendous to happen.

It certainly wasn't a cosy watch as is all too often in most TV dramas.

Started watching season 5 of Gomorrah on Sky last night.  I'd forgotten how damned good the series it.

I’m a big fan but after 5 episodes, the way a lot of the actors are spread out at large meet ups just looks ridiculous at times. I guess its due to covid/social distancing but surely there was a better way to film it.

Excellent edition tonight of Mortimer and Whitehouse : Gone Fishing tonight. No spoilers but a very emotional bit with Paul Whitehouse where he actually gets serious which is rare for him.

It's my highlight of Christmas TV. Just brilliant watching them bounce off each other. Highlights were Whitehouse as above and the award for employee of the year.

Ted with his security hoodie also hit the spot.

Unbelievable on Netflix

This has been around for a while but just got round to watching it.

True story about a hunt for a serial rapist. Felt really sorry for the girl.

8/10

Crime

First episode wasn't sure I was going to stick with it but it's a decent watch.Lots of it feels like every Welsh book that's came to TV or film before but it's also a little bit different as well.Again first episode I didn't think I could take to Dougray Scott at all but he ends up doing a good job with the character

Thought it was excellent.  We lived in the US when the opoid crisis was in full swing....so perhaps that's why we liked it as it went behind the scenes of what was going on during that time.

Same thought it was brilliant.Rach episode just left me thinking wtf

If you haven't seen L'immortale, I'd recommend watching that before watching series 5. It's a movie that will explain some aspects of series 5 that aren't mentioned in other series. While it's not great it does fill in some blanks which will help you.

Started watching Crime with my wife a few nights back. I’ve watched a couple of episodes, but not gone back yet. Why are they deliberately acting so badly, they aren’t terrible actors. Also, why have they got everyone in Edinburgh speaking like an Aberdonian, it’s mental. These two things are really ruining what could possibly be a decent watch.

watched the first episode of Traces on BBCi player

Set in Dundee with Molly Windsor, Laura Fraser & Martin Compston.

It has good reviews and was a decent first episode,

Then I get the "oops, something went wrong" message.

I can no longer find it

☹️

It was originally broadcast by Alibis. Have a look to see if they have a catch up feature.

The Tourist on  BBC

1st episode last night, 2nd tonight, 3rd next Sunday.

Mystery drama, an Irishman has amnesia after a road crash in the Oz Outback and has no recollection of who he is. Seriously dodgy goings on.

Good 1st episode.

Jamie Dornan (The Fall) in lead role.

Finished this earlier on today. Really enjoyed it all, which is unusual for me and tv dramas as most are either too slow or end poorly.

Times square murder thingy. Anyone watched it, any good?

Really good. Great snapshot of a seedy out of control Times Square in the 70’s and the relationship with the police and sex workers back then. Both of these things made catching a serial killer way more difficult than it could have been.
