Tommy Brown Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Watched the first episode of Mint (BBC) Last night and didn't like it. Anyone? Have you watched it, do I stick with it? Scottish gangster drama.
Heartofhearts Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Should I Marry A Murderer is in 3 parts on Netflix. Compelling true crime story about the 2017 disappearance of charity cyclist Tony Parsons near Bridge of Orchy. This is told from the point of view of Dr Caroline Muirhead whose fiance Sandy McKellar confessed to killing Tony Parsons and disposing of his body.
Cade Posted May 7 Posted May 7 8 hours ago, Tazio said: Great last episode of Daredevil. Now it's over I'll go back and binge it all. Cannae be doing with this old fashioned weekly releases pish. I remember when Netflix would just release an entire season all at once.

I remember seeing a much shorter documentary about this on bbc a few years back, it was interesting hearing the full story.
Heartofhearts Posted May 7 Posted May 7 @Ray Gin Think that was the documentary The Vanishing Cyclist? 2025. Available on BBC I Player. Glad Tony Parsons's family got some closure at least.

The BBC do it quite often as well now.
Heartofhearts Posted May 8 Posted May 8 @Tommy Brown I found Mint very disappointing given the hype. Gave up after first episode. Just watched Ep 3 of Half Man on BBC I Player. It is a difficult watch but does keep you wanting to see more- perhaps because of weekly episode drop.

Half Man, I expect to be uncomfortable viewing like the way Baby Reindeer went. I'm recording it for a binge watch.
Dick Dastardly Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I've just watched the first episode of Legends. Steve Coogan runs a Customs operation into the herion smuggling trade in the early 90s. Decent opening episode.

Also excellent in the Jimmy Saville series.

Heartofhearts Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Started to watch new drama Legends (Netflix) as recommended by previous posters. Very enjoyable so far! Steve Coogan plays his part well. Written by Dundee United fan Neil Forsyth ( Bob Servant) and is in 6 episodes.
Heartofhearts Posted May 10 Posted May 10 'Believe Me' on STV tonight 9pm and on Player now. 4 parter based on story of black cab taxi driver John Warboys who was found gullty of serious sexual assaults against female passenger. Interesting look at the Police role during investigations.
Tazio Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Malcolm In The Middle: Life’s Still Unfair on Disney+. 4 episode follow up to the original early 2000’s classic series. If you liked the original you’ll enjoy this, much of what you expect then a genuine laugh out loud last few minutes after an unexpectedly emotional sequence.
Tommy Brown Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Secret Service (ITV) 5 part spy drama. Was a bit sceptical of it being written by Newsreader Tom Bradby, but pleasantly surprised to be enjoying it. Watched 3 so far.

Not a James Bond type spy show, more of what the real thing is probably really like in a Le Carre type spy way. Hopefully it gets a 2nd season as I saw afterwards that it's a trilogy of books by Bradby, so there's more to use if they want to.
PortyJambo Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Talking about James Bond type spy shows, Citadel is back for season 2 on Prime. The first season was ridiculously over the top, so much so that I didn't know if I could watch more of it, but the 2nd season is an improvement in my eyes. It's not quite as OTT, and they've introduced a bit of humour. Not saying it's laugh out loud funny or that much of a different show, but taking itself a bit less seriously was needed. Enjoying the 2nd season a bit more at least due to the changes. Richard Madden's accent is still all over the place though...really should have just told him to do a Connery and do it all as a Scot.
Carl Fredrickson Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Another shout for Legends. Finished it today and really enjoyed it.
Ron Burgundy Posted May 12 Posted May 12 14 hours ago, Carl Fredrickson said: Another shout for Legends. Finished it today and really enjoyed it. Yip, binged it at the weekend and really enjoyed it. Was half expecting Coogan to accuse them all of being fussy eaters. He was like a dead pan unfunny Alan Partridge for me. Same mannerisms. Great though.
Disco Dave Posted May 12 Posted May 12 +1 for legends. 4 episodes in and really enjoying it. Even managed to take my mind off the stress of the next few days for 5 mins.
Dick Dastardly Posted May 13 Posted May 13 (edited) The Punisher: One Last Kill Bloody and violent but slightly disappointing. I'm not sure what the purpose of it was. It would've probably been a great way to introduce The Punisher if he hadn't already had his own series and appeared in various Daredevil storylines. It would've also been a great opening episode for a new series. I did enjoy all the murder and blood though. And it did have Deborah Ann Woll in it so that's always a bonus. Tommy Brown Posted Friday at 23:28 Posted Friday at 23:28 Another for Legends (Netflix) Great drama with lol moments. Really like Forsyth's stuff Did The Gold recently and Guilt I went onto Amazon and bought a couple of his books (no, not Bob Servant, email spammers, lol)

Cade Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The Boys finally grinds to a halt after 5 seasons, which was 2 season too long. Didn't exactly whiff the landing, but didn't really stick it either. It's over now, so we can all move on.
