Tommy Brown Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Another late to the party post. The Beast in Me (Netflix) Three episodes in, got me well and truly hooked.

Hasn't been (legally) watchable over here yet but will be when HBO is available here at the end of the month. Never really bothered with yank medical dramas but this one hits the spot. Every episode has so much to it. Absolutely fantastic show, it’s definitely the best thing on tv I’ve seen in a good while. Edited March 21 by North Berwick Jambo
PortyJambo Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Started watching SNL UK last night on Sky One, but ended up switching over to something else. Wasn't terrible, but no great laughs either, maybe just a slight smile now and again. Have never seen the original US one, so don't know how it compares. 5/10

Let herself be amused at the jokes and let go, Paddy Young was decent too but a different pace to her. Was definitely my favorite bit of the show. Think the criticism of it is a bit harsh. The Attenborough sketch and the movie review sketch though I didnt think much of and they were both really early so felt like it made it an uphill battle. 5/10 seems fair

Tazio Posted March 25 Posted March 25 (edited) I’ve started watching The Madison. Another series from Taylor Sheridan the man behind Yellowstone and Landsman. All about a rich New York family who relocate to Montana after a family tragedy. Good so far and not his usual gunslinging macho stuff with excellent turns by Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer playing a brilliant part as the matriarch of the family. Edited March 25 by Tazio
Cameronstheman Posted March 25 Posted March 25 The Great Hip Hop Hoax on Netflix, to my surprise I really enjoyed it, high's and lows

superjack Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Finished watching blackshore on iplayer last night. Really enjoyable, with a twist at the end that was totally unexpected.
AD 1874 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Long Bright River on Channel 4 is excellent. Police thing (loosely speaking) set in Phillidelphia
Gavman81 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Something very bad is going to happen on Netflix / the stick. Produced by the Duffer brothers - horror story with dark comedy about a pending wedding and then the creepy stuff starts to happen. If you like Mike Flannigan type stuff , think you’ll enjoy this - binged it over the wkend. 8/10
PortyJambo Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) Paradise season 2, with the season finale airing this week on Disney. I'm still quite enjoying it, but it's showing some signs of drifting a bit to the "weird" side, and I'm almost getting hints of heading into Lost territory with the storyline. It's been renewed for a 3rd season, so will stick with it for now, as it's still a decent watch. Started as an 8/10 in first season, but drifting downwards a little in second season Edited March 30 by PortyJambo
Jibbers Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Enjoyed Bait on Prime with Riz Ahmed, or was it Dev Patel?, as an actor who lands an audition to be the next James Bond. His life the starts to unravel. Quite a few comedic moments but also some dark scenes as his grip on reality slips. A really enjoyable binge watch. There are only six episodes at 25 minutes each. A unique cameo role for Patrick Stewart as well!

Laugh out loud moment Really enjoying it so far. This is brilliant telly. Gets more mental with every episode!
Lovecraft Posted March 30 Posted March 30 After seeing the recommendations on here for Mr Inbetween, I downloaded the first season. Then gorged on all 3 seasons in 2 days. ;-) Cracking TV. Dark, funny and well written realistic dialogue/acting. Cheers for the heads up. 9/10

Tazio Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I’ve been watching Detective Hole on Netflix which is based on the Jo Nesbo character. Enjoyable if you enjoy your Nordic type detective types.
Carl Fredrickson Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I started the Pitt last night after the recommendation on here. Now on episode 10..... loving it

Oh and there’s a post credits scene in the last episode. Edited April 1 by Tazio
Heartofhearts Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Is anyone else enjoying This Life on I Player? Loved this back in the late 90s! Great cast and dynamics. It does look quite dated now though.
lou Posted April 1 Posted April 1 We are rewatching Modern Family from start to finish surpasses every other American sitcom for me, every character is brilliant
Tazio Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Working my way through the 1st season of Deadloch on Amazon, a nice antidote to the heavy Nordic noir of Detective Hole.

John Findlay Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Young Sherlock on Prime. Directed by Guy Ritchie. Enjoying this very much. Donal Finn as James Moriarty stealing it for me.
Heartofhearts Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Is anyone planning to watch the new series of ' I'm A Celebrity" South Africa which starts tomorrow Monday on STV 9-1030pm ? Hosted of course by Ant and Dec and featuring past winners such as Mo Farah and Sinitta. I will have a look, but I think it may be a stale format now.
Kells_On_Jackson Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Been watching "For all mankind" on Apple TV, don't know if you guys get it or not over there, I'd say it's a good "time passer" if that makes sense.
Ray Gin Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) Just watched the first 2 episodes of Radioactive Emergency on Netflix. It has me gripped. True story of a radiological disaster in Brazil in 1987. My jaw has hit the floor multiple times already. (Portugese with subtitles, or a dubbed version available in the language settings) Edited April 6 by Ray Gin

Yeah, we get it on Apple TV as well, new (5th) season just started, but I've not watched any from that yet. I enjoy it, especially the earlier seasons. The ageing of some of the actors, especially Joel Kinnaman, for the 4th season was a ropey, not sure if it's got any more realistic for the latest one or still looks pretty fake. Edit - I see on Wiki that it's been renewed for a 6th and final season. Probably a good time to call a halt to it. Edited April 6 by PortyJambo

Tazio Posted April 9 Posted April 9 Just spotted the new season of The Boys has arrived on Amazon Prime.
Kells_On_Jackson Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Does anyone have a good UK crime drama they can recommend? I watched re runs of an old one called "Cracker" it was fantastic acting with great storylines. They have a streaming service over here called 'Britbox" https://www.britbox.com/us/ Thinking of adding it to my Apple TV and wanted to get some feedback from you guys if there's anything in there that's a must watch? Thanks everyone !

Events have moved ahead of its satire now though. It's dated already. I'm only really still watching out of a sense of obligation and I'll be glad when it's finally over. The show has become a parody of itself in recent seasons.

Muppetboy Posted April 12 Posted April 12 The teacher s3 on C5. Enjoyed this. Good performances by the actress playing crescida. Femme fatale aura about her. 7.5/10
PortyJambo Posted April 13 Posted April 13 The Copenhagen Test on C4. A US spy thriller that's interesting enough so far. Far fetched, yes, but bingeable and enough intrigue to keep you watching. 7/10

Tommy Brown Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Thanks to @HeartsandonlyHearts The Spy (Netflix) Great (true based) spy drama with Sacha Baron Cohen in lead role. Set in the early 60s, Mossad efforts to get a spy into the Syria government. Only watched 2 of the 6 so far, very atmospheric and tense.

Gavman81 Posted Tuesday at 17:30 Posted Tuesday at 17:30 Found a wee series on Netflix called The A Word. Its about a married couple struggling to deal with their wee boys autism diagnosis and impact on all their lives. My daughter has autism and it really resonated with me tbh , quite touching , heartfelt and really funny in places too. Morvan Christie , Greg Mchugh & Christopher Ecclestone all feature.
