Dick Dastardly Posted February 7 Posted February 7 The Pitt series 2 just keeps getting better. A really hard watch at times.
siegementality Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Run Away - Netflix. A good watch with a good few twist and turns.

Heartofhearts Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Betrayal starts tonight STV 9pm or all episodes now on Player. Stars Shaun Evans and Romola Garai as husband and wife who experience betrayal at home and at work. Found this very easy to get into and to watch.

Diadora Van Basten Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Lord of the flies on BBC by the makers of adolescence is really good.
John Findlay Posted February 9 Posted February 9 14 minutes ago, Diadora Van Basten said: Lord of the flies on BBC by the makers of adolescence is really good. I beg to differ. Different in quite a few ways from the book. On a different note. Just finished watching series 4 of the Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix. Top notch is all i can say. There will be a series 5.

(or whatever they call it now.) It has three seasons, the first dating to 2012, and is about an unconventional lawyer who works out of the back room of a pub getting caught up in various crime investigations. There is also a strong sub-plot around Aussie horse racing. This is excellent. It's got some great characters. Spoiler Not really a spoiler but the wedding scene was just brilliant. The beach and the car.

Really enjoyed it . As you say very atmospheric and Hitchcockian in style . The music was similar to various music in hitch’s films I feel too . A really good mystery which kept me guessing until near the end . Very well acted too . 8/10

Will try and get through the episode after the football, but it's not exactly gripping. Does it get better? It does. It's great series to watch. Didn't catch me in the beginning too

Cade Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Sons of Anarchy was a (very) loose adaptation of Hamlet in the early seasons. Once that storyline ended around season 4 the show became a parody of itself.
Heartofhearts Posted February 10 Posted February 10 @Diadora Van Basten@AyrJambo I agree Lord of the Flies is excellent. I had not read the book, but the location, filming and acting is exceptional so far ( 2 episodes in).
Heartofhearts Posted February 10 Posted February 10 New comedy series Small Prophets started on BBC2 last night. All 6 episodes are available on IPlayer. Starring Mackenzie Crook and Sir Michael Palin. Crook also wrote the series. Very gentle pace so far but will watch episode 2.
Cade Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Maniac (2018, Netflix) Jonah Hill and Emma Stone star in this darkly comic exploration of mental health problems. In an alternate, retro-futuristic version of today, two people join a group undergoing an experimental drug trial which promises to cure them of their problems. Ollie (Hill) suffers from paranoid delusions and disassociation. Annie (Stone) suffers from grief, guilt and drug addiction. When things start to go wrong at the lab, can they help each other or even help themselves? Well worth your time.
Carl Fredrickson Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Stumbled upon Lead Children on Netflix. Polish show with awful dubbing. Bases on a true story from the early 1970s of a doctors fight to save local kids who were suffering from lead poisoning caused by a local industrial plant.
Carl Fredrickson Posted February 12 Posted February 12 How To Get To Heaven From Belfast is a decent watch. Enough humour to keep me interested

An acquired taste whom I like a lot . From “ Bird “ , “ Peggy Sue got married “ moonstruck” , “ wild at heart “ “ leaving last Vegas “ , and more recently “ long legs “ he’s so versatile and not afraid to take challenges . One of the great actors imo . He’s never boring . This tv series looks like it’ll fit him like a glove 🥊

I quite enjoy how much the prosecution lawyer Berg annoys me, the actor is pitching her performance perfectly. I enjoyed it too, was a good season. Agree about the assistant DA prosecutor, was a suitably annoying performance! Spoiler The woman that was introduced right at the end of the final scene...I assume that's going to be Netflix's version of Bosch as his half-sibling, seeing as they don't have the rights to the Bosch character to include him, but Haller doesn't have a sister in the books? Dick Dastardly Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Wonder Man. I've watched the first 3 episodes and it's ok. Nothing special so far.
Tazio Posted February 14 Posted February 14 How To Get To Heaven From Belfast on Netflix. Comedy mystery by the writer behind Derry Girls. Enjoyed the first three episodes, good characters and a nice sense of black comedy.
rudi must stay Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Dinosaur Something different - stars a girl who has autism - the writing is sharp as you'd expect from a show that's won awards.
Heartofhearts Posted February 16 Posted February 16 @rudi must stay Feel that BBC Scotland is missing the mark with recent new comedy. Do not find them funny or entertaining at all. Thought Dinosaur was poor. Written by and starring Ashley Storrie( daughter of the late Janey Godley). Do not like The Chief new-ish comedy series either. Meh! Prefer the old classics.
Gavman81 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Servant Appreciate an older show but always fancied watching - half way through series 2 and it’s decent ish but not sure I can be bothered sticking with. Anyone seen right till the end / is it worth persevering?

I like it but that's as it's a bit personal I am on the autism spectrum myself I was at the Number 6 place in town came back as negative but it was an interesting experience. I think I have it a little bit
Boozyuzi Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Mr Mercedes on Netflix - 3 episodes in and it's very good. 3 seasons of 10 episodes in total so good for a while.
