Charlie Hunman putting in an excellent performance as Gein Pal of mine was raving about it. Not sure I could stomach it. That said, I've finally started watching the Traitors Celebs. Maybe watching Alan Carr and Jonathon Ross will help me prepare for Ed Gein.
Malinga the Swinga Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Gone Fishing back on TV the same day we beat Celtic. Sundays don't get much better

Ross I think would eat himself if he was made of chocolate. Does he get dressed in the dark 🤪
deano89 Posted October 28 Posted October 28 What about Cobra Kai? it is one of the best series i have watched. Also Vikings and Suits.

Normally I would binge a series when available but with Gone Fishing it's the perfect half hour on a Sunday and spaces out the relaxation over a few weeks. Hopefully there'll be a Christmas special to enjoy the annual season awards.

JudyJudyJudy Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Only murders in the building getting more daft as each season goes back . Good to see some fine actors in it though , in particularly Diane Weist . im really not sure what Renee Zellweger is up to in this !! Her performance is extremely odd ! However I think she’s a fantastic actress and superb in comedy / drama roles . In fact she’s kooky like Weist is .
Samuel Camazzola Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Lioness Available on Paramount+ or STV player. CIA-themed series with action and suspense. Solid cast featuring Zoe Zaldana and Nicole Kidman. Very good, easy to get into and episodes are no longer than 45 minutes.
Dick Dastardly Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) I've just watched the first episode of Down Cemetery Road and it looks like it could be quite good, if quite far fetched. Edited October 30 by Dick Dastardly

Ron Burgundy Posted November 3 Posted November 3 See that Mr Mercedes is on Netflix. Anyone advise if it's any good?
Dick Dastardly Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Maigret A modernised version of the classic French detective. I watched the first 2 episodes and quite enjoyed it. Strangely, it's a British remake but hasn't got a UK release date yet and is only available in the US ( legally anyway)

Gavman81 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Just finished Slow Horses series 5. I find this programme genuinely outstanding- the writing , acting , humour in it is just brilliant and Gary Oldman is just effortless now as Jackson Lamb. Consistently excellent television and still not jumped the shark yet which is commendable given what series we’re now up to

By the time one series has been released the next one has already been filmed. None of this two-to-three years between seasons pish like most other streaming shows these days.
superjack Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Just finished watching series 3 of trigger point. Again, like the previous 2 series, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now ready to start the mew series of the witcher. Surprised I've not seen anyone mention it on here yet.
Ray Gin Posted November 3 Posted November 3 24 hours in police custody (c4) Murder is no game. 2 parter about an absolute wrong'un. Scary to think how much worse this could have been.

Picked up a firearm with ease with a fake permit. You'd expect the process to acquire a gun would have changed overnight and would have require police authorisation.

Yeah, very concerning that he went 18 years without ever being tested for neurodivergence or flagged for odd behaviour, never mind being able to buy a gun with some basic photoshop skills.
Gavman81 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Murder case on the I player Just one series about real life Scottish based crimes when Police Scotland allowed cameras into actually follow / film the whole investigation for several cases. Really really good - the case about the cyclist is particularly mad
Gavman81 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) Enjoying Welcome to Derry as well. Prequel to the Stephen King book and latterly films, based on the IT IP and made by the same guy that directed the two part IT films from a few years back. Good if you like your horror / familiar with the legacy etc Edited November 4 by Gavman81
sadj Posted November 5 Posted November 5 New season of Curse of Oak Island started last night with a two hour special. Just tracking the differences in the search from when the Laginas first showed up to where they are now in terms of recoveries, new info and scientific rigger is mindblowing

Dick Dastardly Posted November 5 Posted November 5 With a few people raving about Slow Horses I decided to give it a go. I watched the first season and I actually think I've watched it before! Brilliant stuff. On to the second series now.
superjack Posted November 5 Posted November 5 Watched the first 2 episodes of the mew series of the witcher. So far, as expected, top marks. Wasn't sure how to take Liam Hemsworth at first, but apart from a couple of the mannerisms, he fits the role pretty well.

For me utter dug shite 24/25 episodes a season dont do it any favors, the change from season 1 to now is vast as is the story but it is definitely difficult to watch intensely with fleshing it out with repetition of story or theories. Iv been interested in Oak Island for a long time but i can understand why people find it slow and unwatchable.
Jamboross Posted November 6 Posted November 6 Death by Lightening. Excellent 4 part mini-series on Netflix about the rise to the US Presidency, short lived term and ultimate assassination of James Garfield. Great cast in general with Nick Offerman and Bradley Whitford both fantastic (as a massive fan of The West Wing it's great seeing Whitford back in political dramas with this and The Diplomat) but Matthew McFadyen is a standout as pitiful, deranged assassin Charles Gutieau.

Whitford is a fine actor . He was great in ” the hand maids tale “
PortyJambo Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I started watching the 3rd season of The Diplomat on Netflix at the weekend. I loved the first 2 seasons, but I'm only 2 1/2 episodes into this 3rd season and I'm hoping it picks up again soon, as so far it's been a bit too family soap opera-ish for me. Surely there'll be a bigger story to get into soon and not just a whole season of drama between Kate and her husband...
PortyJambo Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I've not watched any of it yet, but Vince Gilligan, who created Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, has a new series that's just started on Apple+. Rhea Seeborn, from BB and BCS, stars in Pluribus about a woman who's one of the few people on the planet that doesn't get infected by an alien virus that make everyone happy and part of a hive mind. Sounds a bit strange but, going by his previous shows, it could be a good one.

Dick Dastardly Posted November 8 Posted November 8 All Her Fault An 8 part mini series about a young boy getting abducted from school. I've watched the first episode and slit looks like it might be full of a few twists and turns.
JudyJudyJudy Posted November 9 Posted November 9 “Devil in disguise “ 10 episodes about John Wayne Gacey , the creepy serial killer of 32 prob more men . A dangerous internalised homophobe who couldn’t acknowledge his own sexuality so ended up on a murder spree . Horrific stuff and good he got put down ! Only way to describe it . The show doesn’t dwell on the actual murders which were so graphic and it’s very sensitive to the victims stories and their families . I felt Brian Dennehy was better as Gacey in “ to catch a killer “ 1992 film than the actor in this but he wasn’t bad .
